12-30-2002, 06:04 PM
ROTFLMAO!!! Favre done? Yeah, right  The pack may be done for the year (almost), but Favre still has several good years left in him... Just look at the numbers he's put up this year...

PASSING Att Cmp Yds Cmp% Yds/Att TD TD% Int Int% Long Sack/Lost Rating
Favre 551 341 3658 61.9 6.64 27 4.9 16 2.9 85t 26/ 188 85.6

Granted, they're not spectacular, but for a 35yr old, and what the teams been through this year (Def. injuries, WR troubles) that's not bad at all... He's carried the team, same as Steve McNair.

SpongeBobSquarePants
12-30-2002, 06:21 PM
Yea it is true that farve and mcnair have carried there teams this year but brett isnt near as good as what he use to be.

Browns winning the Super Bowl? There's a better chance of all paintball guns bowing down to the Automag than that happening. They'll throw it away some how, no pun intended. :D It'll either be the Giants or Eagles out of the NFC and either the Raiders or Titans out of the AFC. I'd like to say my Falcons, but there a one man show with Vick, they'll go as far as he goes.

SpongeBobSquarePants
12-30-2002, 07:29 PM
Yea Vick is there one man show but hey I still think the steelers will take it.

Anyone watch the Atlanta and Greenbay game? I'm a Falcon fan all the way but I'm not used to them winning like that, especially IN Greenbay.

Too bad they probably won't make it to the Superbowl, but there is always hope.

The Steelers game was great too, I caught the 4th quarter of that one.

ARG darn Giants how can you muff a field goal like that. Atleast he could have shanked it like he did before, man he didn't even get it off the ground. Well at least it was a good game except for that childish stuff at the end all the pushing and shoving, bunch of babies. I though they were supposed to be professionals then again look at some professional paintballers same thing.

Ah well I guess I'll start routing for the Jets.:D

SpongeBobSquarePants

I found the whole terrel owens and giants thing rather funny but i will agree all pros are like that even pro paintballers and damn they get paid to play and we act better then they do.

As a packer fan, i knew we wouldnt make it by Atlanta, and knew we didnt have a chance at the super bowl past week 9. The pack is the most beat up team in the NFL, they had 1 begninning season starter that was healthy on the OL. The rest were injured, or backups, or injured backups. Green was hurt, and even if he was healthy, the running game would lack due to the OL being "dead". Factor green out and you have a whole new running game, that has no power or experience. That makes the pack have one option, passing.. but all old veteren pack recievers are gone, he ahs a whole new corps this year. Thats hard on a QB, he doesnt know them aswell, doesnt know their strengths and weaknesses or there tendancies, and most importantly, doesnt have the same confidence. He relied on Driver throughout the year, he was injured against atlanta and didnt play against the jets. He did however score the packs only TD of the game vs the falcons, and went out for the day after being re-injured on that catch. Terry glenn got a concussion early vs atlanta, he needed to step up, and instead went down. Two rookies wide outs were the only ones left, one stepped up and caught everything he could, the other one dropped half the passes thrown to him. Bubba Franks is a go to guy, but he was dropping some passes and being a tight end doesnt have the big play capability that a TE in a balanced offense has.
Favre, in all his glory, needs a line, a recieving corps and a running game to win games. Any QB that would have been put in his situation would have lost, it was not his fault, the odds were stacked too high against him, did i mention he has been hurt in the past two weeks too?

The defense was just as battered. First off i hate the defensive coordinator, imo he doesnt know what he is doing. The packers should have been in a 3-4 against vick from the start, and for sure should have found out the 4-3 wasnt working after he ran down the field untouched several times. The lineman were obviously not going to get him, the linebackers could have shortened his runs though and allowed for some successful safety blitzes. Speaking of the safety, our free safety that lead the NFL in INT's this year was out against the jets and the falcons, our SS which is key to blitzing vick and better pass coverage was sick and had a bad ankle. The line was battered, Hollidays knees were bothering him, gilbert has been injured all year, KGB had the stomech flu and was throwing up on the sidelines and had a IV before the game. The linebackers were the only healthy aspect of the defense and they needs to use them, they didnt.

The packers hadnt a chance to go anywhere, even with a bye week they probably wouldnt of got healthy enought to make a run.
They ran out of gas at week 9, at that time the injuries had piled up and they still had the NFL's best record, 8-1.

Had the packers stayed healthy, they would have made a serious superbowl run, favre would have won MVP, and they would have homefield throughout the playoffs.
Tis wasnt the year, and noone ahs any right to say the packers suck, when they are still better then 2/3rds of the nfl's teams when 2/3'rs of there roster are injured and second/third stringers.

That is all.

After deciphering all that, I have but one thing to say...

The pack sucks!! ;) Just Kidding... I'm a bit of a pack fan myself ;)

On the whole, you're right, except the 3-4.. It prolly would have been worse, had they used a 3-4... Damn near impossible to switch defensive schemes like that, especially this late in the season.

go team with the pretty uniform...eeerrr i mean go ninners!!! todays game was amazing. but i doubt they'll go all the way i think they can make to the nfc championship though. bucs should be a push over aslong as offense overcomes sapp and his de. but who we'll play after that is the big question...

All I have to say is I hope the Jets humiliate the Raiders. How about 71-0:D Then I will be very happy. Beyond that I see Tampa bay being hard to stop especially if their offense can make some plays. They have the defense to win it all.
