Hey everyone. I've been missing from the forums for a while and it's almost been worth it with all the new toys I've been playing with. Here they are:

My dad and I built the box ourselves: 3/4" fiberboard construction with 3 acrylic windows(100x stronger than glass and 10x stronger than plexiglass). I painted the interior myself also, man was that a pain. The car will soon be painted that same blue.

The 2 10"s are sony xplodes and the 12" is an Audiobahn AW1206Q. The sonys are being run on an 800 watt legacy and the Audiobahn on a 2000 watt legacy.(Sonys are 400 watts max input each and the Audiobahn is 2200 watts max input.) I also have the infinity sound system. 2 infinity 6x9s, 2 6" door speakers, tweeters, and infinity amp running the 6x9s. Sounds very nice if I do say so myself.

Are you talking about the 6" xplode 3 ways? I have no personal experience with the xplode 2 or 3 way 6" speakers. On of my friends says they are pretty good because he has a cousin who has them. The xplode subs are decent. I have them running the lows and the Audiobahn is running the mids because 12s are better for the rock. If I run the sonys at too close to max there is a little distortion in the bass but you can adjust the input on the amp so you can set it so there is minimal distortion. All together it sounds very nice. In the pic of the subs in the box in the trunk you can see my infinity 6x9s and inifinity amp mounted in the top of the trunk. The amp has a little glare on it.

If you want some good 6x9s that don't cost you too much I would probably go with either Pioneer or Infinity. I have the infinitys like I said and they sound very nice. You could also go with the Pioneer or Sony 3 way 6x9s. It has a mini woofer cone for the lows, speaker cone for the mids, and a tweeter for the highs so it's an all in one deal. They sound pretty nice from what I've heard. It all depends on how much you wanna spend though because there is better stuff but it's going to cost you a lot more...stuff like JL Audio, Eclipse, and Kenwood.

[Trying not to be Mr. negativity here]

The car isn't really my favorite one.

Interior paint is too bright for my tastes. (as would a matching exterior of the same color)

6x9's suck acoustically.
make your own flush mounting plate, and then just put some 6's in there.

I can't make any real conclusions on that subwoofer box until I know the details, but is the box partitioned and partially ported? (pictures aren't all that definitive)

Hey sorry about the pic quality. The blue is actually bright blue, not baby blue. The 6x9s are part of the infinity component system that I have in my car so it is great accoustically with the whole system.

The box is ported and partitioned with the correct internal volume. The sonys are supposed to be .7 cu. ft. and I have them at about .8. The Audiobahn is supposed to be between .77 and I believe 1.24 and I it at about 1.1 so it is all pretty exact.

Oh, and who said anything about keeping paintball gear in the trunk? The gear goes in the passenger seat. It gets dibs on shotgun...my friends sit in the back :D

That audiobahn sub is a destroyer! I have a 10 with 600w RMS going to it, put that baby in a nice big bandpass and blows me away! I bet you can't even hear those wimpy sony subs!:) Rounding out my system are infinity 6.5i's in the back, with an MB Quart component system up front, everything is amp driven, and a JVC head unit rounds it out. How much did you spend, if you don't mind my asking? I got everything for about $1100, that includes the board rack I had to buy so I could get up to the mountain!

I got great deals on all of it actually. The 2 sonys I bought from a friend, barely used for $35. Try and figure that one out! The Audiobahn retails for about $330 but I got it for $100 from a buy it now auction on ebay. Amps ran me about 400 total and box was custom made for about $30 in materials. So I'm too lazy to do the addition but that's it right there. The inifinity system came with the car...it was an option for the premium sound on select chryslers and lexus'.

Yeah the Audiobahn is a beauty. It definitely over-powers both the sonys put together but thats not surprising considering it has almost 3 times the power of the sonys put together.
