Well we all know that trigger jobs are nice, but bad for the gun and expensive because you have to replace parts. Now it seems that is because the sear is made of a thin weak metal, with a hard coating over it to stand up to the abuse it needs to take. Now heres the question, would it function properly if you were to make one out of a thicker metal that no matter where you cut it it was as durable throughout the entire thing? Or how would one go about replicating the hard coating over the preset exterior of the sear? Any ideas?

The hardness of the stock sear is not a coating, the thind is hard all the way through (i tried drilling through one) the proces is called anealing (or something simmilar) and hardens the whole part.
