I apologize if this question has been answered before. I wasn't able to find the answer in any of the previous edge threads.

What is the length of the backs of the edge barrels? I currently own a 12" J&J full tilt barrel. The back of this barrel is about 6.5" (including threads) and the tip is is about the same (again, including threads). I want to buy the edge kit, but want a different size tip than I currently have so I get a little variety. From what I have been able to piece together from different sources, it seems that the back of the edge is about 4", meaning my current tip would give me about a 10" barrel. I'm assuming then that the tip that comes with the 12" kit is about 9" long. Does that seem about right?

Thanks.

Correct, the tips are different lengths.

still debating between:

J&J Edge Kit
2pc Boomer (when it comes out)
Empire Kit
or
CP Kit....

still debating while money is saved....

This is a direct quote from J&J.
"The back length is 5". 4 sizes are in the kit, .685, .688, .691, & .693. You can get additional fronts for $21 each."

The 2-piece boomys won't be sold separately like the other barrel kits that are out there. You have to buy the whole barrel in different bore sizes and then you can unscrew/screw them to make different lengths/bore sizes. This would be expensive at $110+ per boomy barrel.

What about a Smart Parts 2 piece kit? Like an All American 2 piece

J&J Edge Kit and the Empire Kit look like the exact same thing..... (just massively similar to Boomsticks.... but as kits....)

I'll probably end up buying wut is cheaper as half a kit or sumtin....

If anything the CP kit will at least come in colors to match my Red SFl.... and that should be cheaper by far if just buying half a kit... err sumtin like that...

you would end up with about a 11" barrel by my calcualtions. i am still partial to the freak gotta stay loyal man. although TI inserts would be nice.
