I have a 68 4500 Flatline # 10272. I took it apart tonight to clean it and noticed this:
1)The directions that came with it refer to a reg seat o-ring. I dont have an o-ring, I have an orange rubber washer.
2)The rebuild kit came with a c-clip for the male fill nipple. My fill nipple had no C-clip, The check valve just fit snug inside the nipple. The clip that came with the kit was NOT going to fit any where on the nipple.
3)The directions and rebuild kit also refer to a Tank Reg Check Valve o-ring. There was a small rubber bushing like thing on the check valve, but it didnt match the o-ring that came in the kit.
4) And finally, the parts list and directions say to use a 3/8" socket to remove the fill nipple. 3/8" did not fit. It was one size bigger at 7/16" (that explains why some fill stations wont fit my fill nipple).
I didnt lose any parts, and I'm not an idiot, so please rule that out of your explaination.
