is there a need for warp on a mayhem? i thought mayhems were relativly slow. i know they are accurate as hell but i thought they were slow. but what do i know, i never shot one

I use it to get the hopper out of the way.

and shartlet, it actually isnt that heavy. the gun adds just about nothing to the wieght, as it is mostly hollow. :D

I saw this at AO day a while back, and lemme tell you it's CLEAN and a gun couldn't be setup better for warp. Sorry Xtremers....Sniper's gun has you bested :)

Ever since I first saw the Mayham I wondered how in the world that thing worked. I was told it uses a spool thingy. How does that work? sorry if a little off topic. But nice job

basically, its a 1-way valve built into a spool. at rest, the spool has air on both sides, but it is sealed against the bolt. around the spool and behind the bolt (which acts like a ram) is the dump chamber. when the trigger is pulled, the air behind the spool is vented and it moves back, allowing air through the bolt. on mine, when the air behind the bolt reaches roughly 4.5 psi (40-ish on stock mayhems) the bolt opens.

That's nice! I really like the smooth way the warp hose connects to the body...it certainly keeps the set-up tight.

hehehe, THIS is tight. the pic is from about 8 feet away. and yes, i can see and shoot the camera from there.

hey spork calm down. On another forum that sniper and i are on they showed the patents for the new shocker. Uses same operating principals as the mayhem. AND it was a joke

sniper1rfa
01-19-2003, 06:32 PM
hehehe, yeh, the patent describes an interesting mayhem.

mine goes fast enough... :D

sniper1rfa- ya mind posting the links to the patents, or to the thread in the other forum where this is discussed?

iv been saying the 2k3 shocker HAS to be like a mayhem.. hmmm..

it actually is more similar to that mod you described to me (pneumatic return type dealy).

but yeah, its a mayhem without the spring.

DOes this work on the same principle as the Nova? Just wondering.

sniper1rfa
01-20-2003, 12:43 PM
somewhat, only with a bolt and solenoid, instead of the whole valve and moving barrel bit in the nova.

nicad

ok. wow. 2k3 shocker is about 99.999% of what i designed for the mayhem. (cough)ripoff(/cough)

ohwell.. looks like they have a bolt pressure factor of around .267 .. over 26Lbs of force on the bolt if they run it at 100psi. chopsuie!!!

also i can guarantee you this new shocker will not be very efficient.. it should be better than the old ones.. but its still going to be bad.

out!

sniper1rfa
01-20-2003, 04:43 PM
i didnt check your numbers, but that isnt surprising. the morons, dont they realize it will shoot better if its lower!? less blow-back, a little more efficiency (not that SP cares...), and possible no chopping...

i would bet they are running about 120-130 psi, considering the difference in size. maybe even higher.
