this has probably been touched on before, but i dont think its been posted like this before, i was wondering what barrel lenght is the prefered choice for front players,

I like 12's all around, but i may toss a 14 or 16 if I wanted to get the most out of my hyper or sup air bunkers.

I'd say 10 if you dont really sight down the gun and don't like to use your barrel to work around your bunker too often

12 if you play normally

14 or 16 if you excessively find yourself shooting through hyper cracks or pressing your barrel into sup air bunkers.

Also, with a mag a freak barrel will be longer than a regular mag barrel (in same advertised length), because mag freak backs are longer, yet you use the same tips.

I think 12" is a perfect size for me with a mag back, but 14 is great too, not too unwieldy. I notice a smaller difference from 12 to 14 than from 10 to 12

Just some midnight ramblin' from Mossman :)

I'm a front player and I prefer 10in over 12in. I found that the 12in, for some reason, was drastically longer then the 10in and for me it was to long. It just got in the way

im a back player. bought a Ss AA 16" front. then i cut off 2" so it would take a way alot of porting.

another words i have a 14" AA with only 4" of porting compired to 6"

it works great.

Baja...dont AA's have porting the entire length of the tip regardless of the size?

I think TD's are the ones that have the same ported distance on all the tips.

Correct me if im wrong...

12" boomy 14" boomy and 14" Freak... As you can see the freak is about an inch longer.. so a 10" would be and 11" 12 a 13" and so on....

Like someone mentioned, for hyperball I'd use a 10", for Sup Air I'd use a 12". Get both IMO :)

i hear you guys saying, for hyperball go 10" and for sup' go 12", well here is where the thing comes in, the main feild i play on in my town, is a mixture of both sup' air and hyperball, and wooden spools and such, my normal line takes me from a red laydown, to a double stack of hyperball tubes, to a sub box made from wooden panneling, so its pretty diverse, any thoughts?

I personaly think 14" is a nice size, but I'd get a 12" Because of it being longer you get a 13" barrel... Right inbetween 2 good sizes, 12 and 14.

NO ONE needs anything longer then a 10". Why? I know but am too lazy to explain. Go to The deep blue forum and either search or ask. One think I will tell you, the longer the barrel is the MORE air it's gonna take to geta ball going 285fps so your efficiency goes down with barrel lenght.

heat that is true however the longer ones are better for pushing bunkers around in sup air

IMO freaks are WAY over rated but if i was to get one anything under 14 would do cause ive played with all those lenghts and they all work fine

if you want a nice barrel i hear the equation system is nice and that comes in 8'' and thats alll ya need

I use a 10" Freak and have noticed no major difference that from when I am using the 14".
I like how the 10 tucks better and the fact that you can snap shoot with it faster IMO.I think it has a lot to do with preference.
In "air" the longer barrel does help a lot,as has already been explained.

i see all you saying mag freaks are long but that is only because the twist lock thing, and the extra lenght is not used

i use a 12in AA, i kinda wish i had a shorter one some times though. i kinda like the 8in stock barrel, but that's only usefull at my 1 feild w/ plastic bunkers, and you need to get super tight

I play front for my team and I use a 10" barrel. I like the fact that it keeps the overall length of my gun shorter and tighter for the small spaces I have to get in. To each his own though. I've used a 12" and a 14" before and they're ok, but the 10 is better IMHO.

12 in is a good, all around length.

i rock a 16, its good for pushing bunkers out of the way and beatin people with afterwards.

however i also have a 14 when im not playing airball, both tips are good.

just buy 2 damn tips, get a 10 and a 12, used tips go for 30 bucks or so, just get a plain jane black one and your set. problem solved

I agree with cliff, but if you don't want two tips, I say a 12. If 14s were more air efficient, I would go with that. A 12 gets the tightness of a 10, but enough to push bunkers around like a 14. If air isn't a big problem for you, go with a 14.

16 all the way, so much fun with air bunkers.
