I made some for Chimaera and as far as I know am the first person to use magnets in detents.

yerah they are talking ball detents basically how it would work is that you have a magnet in the accual bearing(i would think) and one away from it with the same polarity facing eachother and it would basically push the ball detent foreward into the body with enough force to hold the ball in

Well, think of it this way: with spring detents, if the spring is depressed for a certain amount of time, it will gradually weaken the detents.

So looks like you've got an audience kila; name your price. ;)

yeah magnets do wear out, over 10,000 years depending on which kind you use.

Heh, well in that case, by then it won't matter because by the time these magnets die, I'm sure we'll have feed systems that warp the ball directly to an opponent so there won't be a delay to account for flight time.
