I just got an J&J Edge kit with 4 backs. Can someone please tell me what is the best way to pick which back to use?
Thanks

you bought a barrel kit not having any idea what its for?

you choose the back that correctly matchs the size of your paint. if it falls through the back. use a smaller back. once you can blow the ball through the barrel with some resistence. your good to go..

No problem.

I got it from paintball discounters for $115. The backs are polished and the tip is a black 12". The have other colors, but I think the only bright colors in paintball should be the balls themselves.

Get yourself a ball sizer, it's a plate with holes in it to size your paint, gives you a good idea of what you're shooting before you even place it in the barrel.

I guess a caliper would work, but are paintballs really that uniform? The marking on the barrels go to thousands of an each!

I just picked up an Edge kit for my Bushy on Ebay for $95. Very sweet barrel kit. Mine has the 14" tip with it, but I'll probably pick up a 12" as well.

Bushmaster barrel

:)

I actually had that saved as an email notification... It had a Buy It Now/Reserve of $95, so I went for it. Very well-made set. I originally thought the polished backs were stainless, but they're polished aluminum. Very light, solid construction, and the front and backs fit flawlessly.

Ive noticed (I use a freak kit however) that matching it perfectly is usually NOT the best idea unless you use something like 5 balls to measure with.. if any of the 5 seem to have a tougher time going thru...bump up 1 size or face a much higher likely hood of barrel breaks.

Thanks Demon, makes scense. I think I'd rather have a little less effiency and no breaks.
