Here is the latest. We extended the bottom of the frame so you could get three fingers on it. Trigger is more vertical to give space for you fingers. The front of the trigger gaurd is now identical to the Intelliframe so it will fit most front grips.

YES this will have the switch mount for intellifeed!

Snatch grip next.

Very nice Tom, I like this one the best so far. Keep up the good work on this, I've got a teammate who'd like to get one ASAP.

Perhaps a more rounded trigger bottom similar to the IR3. Not a complete replica, but the position the trigger is in, it may help to increase the area of contact by the user. Otherwise this is really looking fantastic!

Very nice. It's getting there.

I notice with every generation so far it's been getting closer, and closer to 90*. Why not just go ahead, and make a 90* frame?

Snatch Grip, eh? Will this be part of the frame, or a seperate part to fit any mag?

Id say use the ratio of the inteliframe trigger to the angle of the grip, and incorporate that angle into the Y-Grip. My 2 cents.

Yeah, I'm with everyone else. Its looks great but the trigger needs to be angled a bit more.

looking good looking good! hmmm, yeah, maybe a slightly angled rigger, or you know what, you should make the trigger angle adjustable, that would be cool. Everyone has a different taste for there trigger

I think it looks great, but please don't make it 90*! -

Here is the only thing I can think of that might need changing...is that when your fingers slide up to this part, i'd probably hurt a lot.

Im liking it. Could anyone possibly tell me a price range so i can start saving my pennies and my dimes? I think that it might be better to have the trigger a little angled. Cant wait to see what they look like w/ a snatch grip. And as for the adjustable trigger angle that Automaggin2 suggested i think that would be a reat idea, maybe make it like the old Eclipse Cocker slide frame that had the blade trigger shoe

Here is a slightly modified one, showing you what I mean. The Intelliframe has a nice curve underneath the trigger guard and it feels real smooth on the fingers.

Aso, I did some small drawings at the bottom left illustrating, to an extreme degree, the difference of angles between the trigger, which is straight up, and when operated, having an angle opposite that of the frame, and then the angle of the frame itself. I'm wondering if the 'bow' of an angle made by the trigger and the grip frame would cause any discomfort, because I don't know how well a human hand could conform to that 'bow'.

If you look at the z-grip, the line of the trigger is parallel to the line of the angle of the grip frame, making it natural to grip. I hope you guys understand what I mean.

Dave, you hit the nail on the head, that looks great, like he said, angle the trigger so its parralel with the grip... that way is just un comfy. But its coming along greeeeeeeeeat. And I-Feed makes it an instant buy for my future mag :)

I don't think you can copyright an angle. As long as the frame looks nothing like the space frame, then I don't see what the problem would be.

I believe WDP patented it or something...that's why the guys who wanted to make vertical impulse frames got hassled, delayed launch, changed their name....and I'm not even sure if they've been released yet.

I'd see nothing wrong with a 88* frame though :) I might even be able to deal with a 89* if its shaped nicely :D

However, I think if tom angles the trigger to correspond with the angle of the frame, I'd prefer the Y over either.
Yes...that's right. I'd take the Y frame over both a 88* OR a 89* frame...it might sound crazy but it's true.

I'm such a loser :) Tom, you've been a busy bee and it seems to be paying off. I can't wait for this thing to come out! Z 4EVER!

tom, give and option for vertical trigger or parallel trigger. the vertical trigger would be so nice for us players who want roller triggers and the parallel (to the frame angle) triggers would be more comfy for the normal players who don't like rollers.

I'm sorry, maybe it's just me, but how do you shoot that thing? Your wrist is inline with the angle of the grip frame and then your fingers have to twist back so they can pull the trigger straight back. Doesn't look as comfortable as a Z-Grip to me.

MantisMag

i'm going to have to agree with everyone else. the trigger needs to be parrallel but i'll add that it could be angled farther forward than the grip frame. since the middle finger is longer than the index finger.

ummm how about a diff trig one thats a little more hooked... like some more of the style tysonmachado has done...

I am with dave, that angle on the trigger guard does look like it could cause some discomfort. That angle could be rounded off some to be a bit more comfy.

The trigger and trigger gaurd angles are a big issue. I like the idea of a hook type trigger that you can pull downward like you can on a Z-Grip. I put together some of my thoughts here:

Any chance of a new sear assembly for the E/X-mags? I like the trigger angle that the Patron god of Pirates suggested!

The trigger geometry looks like it is the exact same as the intelliframe's trigger geometry.

That doesn't make for a comfy pull on a Y-Grip. Sure, it will be comfy to hold, but the pull has to be comfy too, that's the whole point of a 'backwards' frame.

I know everyone has said this, but add one more to the "Angled Trigger Camp". I love how comfortable my Z-Grip is and I find it hard to imagine pulling the trigger on it straight back. I feel it would be the same way with the Y-Frame.
