i picked up a fresh case of nel splat paint for this weekends game, get to the field ,load up ,and played all day with no breaks. sounds great right..WRONG
this paint wont break on anything.
so when i got home i started testing.
i have a 4x8 sheet of plywood in my backyard that i shoot from time to time. so i load up the timmy and chrono it to 290 and shoot away..this stuff was bouncing off at 25 feet.
the next test was the pliers, pinching the balls to see how hard they were.{man these things are tough}

any ideas what i can do with this stuff?

It's not all Nelson paint, I've had pretty good luck with Anarchy. Other than it stains my jersies.

That stuff you got is crazy.

You can use it to practice with? As in put up targets and a catch bin... :D Or use it JUST when cronoing, then switch to "game" paint. ;)

How about take it back? I mean come on - if you can't break paint with a pair of plyers then it is defective.
If the store won't tke it back call Nelson and let them know this is now an online issue and give them the opportunity to "make it right."

A picture is worth a thousand words - try emailing that photo to them.

thats almost like the stuff you leave out in the rain after it swells up and gets all rubbery.

I saw some Nelson, I am pretty sure that it was the lowest grade cheapest stuff, and it looked like it was pretty good, major seam though, and we did a droptest on a few and they broke down the seam on the first drop

lol thats insane
I always have the opposite problem, the paint is so ridiculously brittle

I've had Zap paint that was almost that bad. "ALMOST!" He he.

Try putting it in the freezer to make it more brittle. As for using it only when chronoing, thats a bad idea, your game paint can be a different bore and your velocity would not be the same. Could be a safety issue. Personally, i've always had that problem with Nel-Splat. The next grade higher, Premium, is much better. I hadly ever had problems with it. The Anarchy is just awesome too.

I've used anarchy and the cheap nelson brand. Anarchy worked great. Didn't like the seam with the cheap nelson stuff and it kept breaking in the barrel.

You got a really bad batch. Normally it isn't that bad. And by the way I used my level 10 with PMI Premium last time on a cold wintery day. Not one break!:p

So don't diss my level 10!

there is a fix.... Buy dessicant packs. the resuable kind. And place them in the bag with the paint. within an hour or two enough moisture will be removed to make the paint brittle. DO NOT lay the packet on the paint, wrap it in paper towels or else it will destroy the paint it lays on.

And.. next time you'll have good paint ;-)

yeh, Ive used Anarchy at COUNTLESS tournies and LOVED IT every time. its a 1-2 bouncer. Nelson musta had a bad batch when they made that...or the MORE LIKLY cause is that the store had it sitting on the shelf for 3-4 months

Hey, i dont know if anyone remmeber, but back a few years ago, like 4 or 5 years ago, pro ball was just like that. we used to call it pro bounce cause it was so thick. it was excellent paint tho, to bad pro ball went down hill and started to crap out. anyone know what happened to pro ball?

lol since it wont break, crank your gun up to like 4-500 and start shooting squirls.

I've tried Nel-Splat before, and had the exact same problems. I was getting bounces off players guns and mask! I swear some of the paintballs had more than one shell. You could like peel the shell off and the paintball would still be intact.

And like everyone else has been saying, that Anarchy stuff is good (and very very thick) I've always had good luck with Anarchy and it's always been fairly brittle.

the last case of nelsplat that i had was so big it wouldn't go through the barrel, and so brittle it would break from a 2 foot drop.

hey, theres a reason my field sells Proball....the more it bounces the more you shoot. the more you shoot...the more we make :D :D

maggin

NPS sells Draxxus and Team Colors.
Paintball Inc sells Viper, Proball, Powerball.

you wont see an NPS store selling Proball, nor a Pi store selling Draxxus. At my shop, we sell Proball and Viper. I wouldnt touch Draxxus with a 10' pole

Proball is still around and doin quite well down here

Look at the bright side, you can play alot of marbles depending on how much you shot.
