Hey,
Henna work rocks ... I had a symbol painted onto my arm last week, still very bold ... its supposed to last 4-8weeks .. w00t

I took a pic of mine, and one of my roomates ... they're both semi fresh, so the "paste" is still on them.

Henna is kinda fun actually. I painted some linework on my friend Lesley a while back. You know what's even better? The real thing!! Tats rock!

Oh, and yeah, she's got a nice backside! :D

Well I have 3 tats .. and 5 piercings ...

Tats are my favorite ... but time consuming and money consuming ... so the occasional Henna piece gets me through my junkeeness ..lol

Dave K

Figure I'll get a henna as a precursor to a real one. That way if I get sick of it in 8 weeks it's gone, without lasers..... :D

henna is really cool I haven't seen any thing done it a tat style before I have had henna mendi paterns before but this rocks. You can also get colour tattoo style stuff as well I had a brilliant time with those and they are great for trying tat paterns out.

You can buy it on ebay. Search for henna powder. Comes as powder, then you just mix it with water I think, it becomes a paste, then ya just paint it on. Pretty cool stuff, my freind got a dragon on her arm.

Do NOT trust Ebay for henna. Most likely you'll just get some red dye.

I suggest looking at your local bookstore and getting a few design/history books on henna. "true" henna is VERY complicated, and takes quite a bit of patience.

My friend Josh is a henna MASTER, his designs are incredibly intricate and well done. I'd suggest you practice on paper, before you go messing up your own (or someone else's arm). You don't just 'paint it on', you have to drop a very thin line of paste onto the skin, making sure that it stays cylindrical, and without touching your drawing implement to the skin. I've seen it done a few ways, using porcupine quills, sticks, tubes, plastic bottles, and even (by Indian women), using the fingertips to form the line.

Henna's beautiful when it's done correctly, but terrible when it's not. Be careful when you're starting out! Get good henna, not cheap, thin stuff. Make your own, even!

Oh, trust sarah then lol.

I said "paint" because I saw it on Wild on E! last nite and that's how they did it. My freind's freind is a profesional Henna Artist, so she got it done fine. She also bought the stuff on Ebay, but I guess you just have to be careful in what you buy. (On a side note, it was red :))I know she woulnd't have gotten anything but the best.
