hehe, i recal a load sm5 quote...

"You see the thing about lx is that there is still a good amount of residual pressure lkeft in the valve, so when you remove it, the lx flys out like a cruise missile to harpoon your cat. this could be good or bad depending on if you like cats."

it goes something like that, you just gotta be careful with these things.... Also, why are you ditching the e-mag? what problems has it been giving you?

my on/off flies out everytime i take my valve out. from what i hear, getting a pro connect might help this problem

I still cant find it,, I have torn apart my room, Well I think that it flew into the air vent, becuase it was open. So I gotta get a chair and a flashlight, a pole. Looks like im going fishing.

well you see thats your problem you tore yout room apart. it was probabally lying nicely on the floor, and you went rampaging. what exactally are you missing, the whole on off assy? or just the pin? also, look at the dent, trajectory etc, and try and get a feel for where it may have deflected to, it will help you find it easier.

SlipknotX556

The whole on/off came out. I looked all over the floor, I think it flew into my closet, so im looking their now.

What the hell, don't you de-gas the valve when you take it apart? Even without a proconnect I always de-gas the thing before I take it apart. I have noticed the Retro has waaaay more air built up inside if it than the regular AIR valve, but I always de-gassed that one too. Strange guys.

so how do you go about doing this "degas" thingy? i have a slide-check but i would like a fall-back as well..thanks..

no, we leave our guns fully gassed up with 1200psi input pressure shooting in that baby!!!

#1, if the gun was gassed up, the macro fitting would not part from the macro itself.

#2.. READ next time buddy "You see the thing about lx is that there is still a good amount of residual pressure lkeft in the valve, so when you remove it, the lx flys out like a cruise missile to harpoon your cat. this could be good or bad depending on if you like cats."

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly do pro connects do?
And since their so cool, where can I buy one?

lol that happened to me once. now every time i take the valve out, i wiggle it up and down and pull lightly so it flys and hits the body rail instead of somewhere in my room.

Same thing happen to me once but it was outside, and there was no chance in finding the on/off. My best suggestion is to buy a new one.

When I had a nitroduck stock regulater on my tank I had to manually degas the gun after turning off the pressure. (pulling of the micro line connected to the A.I.R. valve)

Now that I put a Centerflag Hyperflow 301 reg on my tank it auto blows out the pressure in the line out a hole on the reg when ever the pressure is turned off. This a really nice feature but makes a loud poping sound.

By doing either of these I have never had a on/off assembly fly out of the valve and I clean the whole gun and oil it after every game. (I was playing once a week for the most part last summer)

i dont use the pro connect i just use a normal dis connect it does the same thing it is just a bit hard getting the dis connect apart but it is worth the effort instead of taking my tank off and screwing up my threads up on my drop even more but it is all good

I did it outside once, I didnt know my gun well enough and I didnt notice it was missing lol. So when I gassed up I had a suprise. Never found it. This is a funny thread

The thing must have shattered on impact. I hate when things do that.

No way the on off pin could shatter on contact with a cieling and closet wall. I've shot the pin out on accident myself and the pin didn't do that.

I was kidding. I deeply doubt a piece of metal propelled by a small burst of air would shatter on impact. But I'll edit and add a smilie face :D

Saw a guy at a tourney taking his mag apart while still gassed up. The on/off flew straight up and made one heck of a dent in the roof of his truck. It was pretty funny. Found all the pieces in his floorboard.

no, the whole on/off assembly came out. When I usually turn off my flatline, I shoot the extra air out, but this time I didnt, it came out at a very high speed.

I also found the on/off in a basket, in my closet. The search has ended.

Once I was trying to repair my valve, and couldn't get the on/off out, so i just put a lot of news paper in front of the on/off and gassed it up. shot right through the layers of paper and i found half of it accross the room. did the trick though!
