Ok do any of you remember that article about how safe all of the sports were? It compared a lot of sports including paintball and bowling. If you know where it is or if you know where any other article that talks about the how safe paintball is compared to other sports please post them. (It would help if the government or a government department did them.):D  And yes I have done some searches for the article. :D

Not sure where the article is, but the study was done by the US government.

I once hit myself with a golf ball that I hit. I was ~ 10 feet from a pine tree, and I thought "There's no way I'll hit it if I aim right for it." :D

Well, I was horribly wrong! I hit that tree square and the ball came right back at me! I jumped and spun just in time for it to hit me in the back instead of the gut! :D

epterry - my B.S. meter nearly went off the charts when I heard that paintball was a safer sport than golf. I love paintball and believe it to be a safe sport overall when played safely, but come on...

So I checked to see where these websites got their figures, and I ended up writing the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission to see if they could help me. They were very helpful, and I was able to get the original research data via the mail. Unfortunately I can't remember what I concluded, but the data is lying around here somewhere; I'll get back to you once I've looked it over again.

hehe, with the 'tards in the world these days, an everyday task such as writing with a pencil can become a life threatening activity.

I agree, paintball is pretty safe. My 9 year old daughter came out to play with me and gibby last Sunday and she did get a bruise from getting tagged but other than that she was fine. I am an overprotective mother and would not let her play if I didn't feel that it was absolutely safe for her to do so. And, she had a great time!
