What is the best 68/45 or 68/5 screw in (or the like), in your opinion?

both the crossfire and the centerflag are great tanks. I voted centerflag in that the reg is shorter than the crossfire's reg (by about ½ - 1 inch)

I voted for crossfire cause I have one and its great, but you forgot WGP, which are supposed to be very good and very LIGHT regs incase you are worried about every ounce. I say this because crossfires are very heavy presets

Crossfire for 68/45, PMI for 68/5k (Only PMI makes 5K tanks)

I have a 68/4500 crossfire and it's been great, I bought it used a while back and I have had zero problems with it.

look up crossfire test on PBnation, I'm pretty sure it's been proven to be better though it really doesn't matter since one does not exceed the performance of the next competitor by too far.

I have an Air America 88/4500 (5yr) that I got new for 159. Works great.

you really can't go wrong with most of these tanks...
i really doubt you'd be able to see a tangible difference in performance
so price, size(length of the reg might affect your choice), weight and whether or not it has a 3 or 5 year hydrostat are really going to be you're main factors

myself and a friend of mine run nitro duck 68/45(5yr)tanks and are very happy with them

i just sold mine to pick up an adjustable tank(nitro duck xstream 68/45(5yr)) to use with my retromag
ill let ya know how i feel about it when i get it

oh ya and i also have an old aci bulldog
when i first got it, the flow was absolutely terrible
apparently the older bulldogs had a major design flaw
i picked up an upgrade kit and haven't had a problem since

this would only be an issue with an older tank but i figured id mention it

anyway with the upgrade it works just fine(even on my AT-85 in full auto :D ) and it's a really lightweight design

I've had nothing but good experiences with my pure energy 4500 screw in. the price is right, long hydro date, consistant. etc.

Well as far as I see it they are all good tanks. To the best of my brain power all of the tanks are made by 1 of 2 companys. That would be Luxfer or Carlton( I think I spelled the second one right). Most fiber wrap tanks are 5 year retest, but don't quote me on that. The only differance I see is what type of reg you want( preset or adjustable ) and amount of money you want to spent. I have used most of them and all have worked very good for me. I currently use a Nitro Duck. The price was right.

i like the cross fire regs better but the pmi tanks have 5 year hydro. right now i have a pmi tank on my maxflow reg and i love it. and a cross fire screw in.

nitro duck has the adjustable x-stream screw in

crossfires are obscenely heavy

pmis are good, BUT dont get one if u hav ea spyder

Well, i don't exactly have a spyder...

Thinking about the Centerflag, nice and light and small, etc.

Thanks

i've owned crossfires and PMI's.

i like the crossfires better. the pmi's tend to come with a ghetto guage that always cracks on me for some reason. but, the crossfire reg tends to be longer.

I prefer the Crossfire systems, as I heven't had any problems with them.

I have a System X and have no problems with it. All System X does is assemble components, it is an ANS reg and a Luxfer tank, you can't go wrong with either of those. If you shop around you can find a 68/45 for around $175.

I have a Pure Energy 68/3000 fiber and a Nitro Duck Extreme 68/4500 tuff skin adjustable. For the money both are excellent. If I were to get just one it would be the Nitro Duck.

In terms of flow and recharge rate, the ACI and Crossfire regs came out on top.

ACI unleashed a pretty crap batch of Bulldog II's so if you're one of the unfortunate ones to get them you probably wouldn't agree.

But the serviceability of their regs wins out (if you can get the fully functioning ones).

An extremely well respected international pneumatics company will be unleashing a new screw in reg SOON.

I'm not at liberty to make the information public but if you've had a chance to see some of the other paintball products that they make, you'll be just as excited as I am.
