if a revee you got is 9 or 12 volt?
im buying one from my friend he says 9 volt batteries work in a 12 volt revee so im wondering what i should pay for it..

if it has a space for 2 batteries its a 12v.. if it only has a spot for one battery its a 9v

9V Revs take 1 battery, 12v's take 2.

yes, a 12 vt takes 2 9vt revvies ask him if it takes 2 batteries or one

i got it here in my hands, it takes 2 battereies....
2 9 volt battereies, that means there is an input of 18 volts??? ohh well it worked alright

how much should i pay for

black revee, seems to be working fine, no x board

NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!!! I have a 9vlt revvy w/ an x-board and it only feeds as fast as a regular 12vlt. The diff. is the motor.

Mr.Minus

then how do i tell the difference??? and how much is it worth?

Something in the software I think, regulates it down to 12v. The oooooooooooooold revs were 18v, the "shredders".

does it have a x-board? how much paint has been though it? i would say like $30 or so depending on condition...new ones are only like $40-50

There is a voltage regulator to bring the working voltage down to 12v. Allows the batteries to go longer.

The Shreadders were VL-2000s, not Revs. There was a normal "VL-2000" with a single 9v and small paddle. The "VL-2000 Shreadder" had a second 9V attached below the first 9v and had a big star shaped and really tall paddle.

no x-board....
ok so your sure 9 volts take one and 12 volts take 2???
or wtf?

12v takes 2-9v. there is a voltage regulator inside that reduces into 12v. Basic used 12v without xboard goes for 30-40 bucks depends upon condition and whether it is black or transparent case.

Revolutions come in 2 flavors, 9v and 12v.

The 12volt version came in a few variants board wise, but only 2 variants power management wise.

The 12 volt used to work on a 12v regulator bringing the 18v to 12v.

Newer revvies are using PWM, Pulse Wave Modulation. This is basically turning the motor on and off very quickly so it appears to be continous motion. The PWM brings the speed of the 18v to a speed similar to 12v.

my 9 takes 2 9vlt batteries for the x-board. it will not run off of one

I GOT SHREDDER :D WEEEE

My shredder kit was purchased in 92-93 I believe, not sure when exactly, it was a long time ago. My kit came with a new sensor board, larger paddle, extra battery lead, and the extra battery compartment that slides into where the original door went.

I like the 18v too... spins fast. The only problem I have with the shredder is with clear shells, it doesn't matter how much you blacken the inside, the sensor doesn't seem to pick up the ball in the neck. Other than that.... weeee
Over the years, I've never had any real problems with it, I'm glad it wasn't made like today's current revvy *coughCHEAPcough* :D However, you have to make due with what you got right? Here's a pic of my beloved "Purple People Eater" with the Shredder kit on the ol' VL2000 Hooray for old skool :D

The x-board is a 12v board. The only difference now between yours and a regular 12v with x-board is the paddle (9v and 12v use the same motor).

A 9volt only has two paddles and 12 volt has 4 paddles.

earlier 9v did have a two pronged paddle, and the 12s came with the four, I used to have one of the twoers.

jsut a small correction.......its "pulse width modulation"
