Hi, I've heard that AGD has 3 or so different frames out there for Emags...just wondering what the basic differences were; pics would be appreciated.

Thanks

I've only heard of 2, standard and ULE. This has some info too, http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59095&highlight=ule+and+grip

Well, I've heard about the straight-back, the clamshell, and the AGDE.

and

Errr, well I should have been more specific while prodding for information: are the SFL Emag frames (straight back I think), really similar to the AGDE Emag frames?

hehe

EDIT: Reason I ask is that I'm trying to have custom grips made to wrap around the front and back of my frame. ;)

Okay, let me try to clear a few things up.

There are 2 types of e-mag frames: standard, and ULE. ULE comes stock on SFL's, colored e-mags (stock from factory, not aftermarket job), and most X-mags.

No such thing as a clamshell e-mag frame. Clamshell refers to a frame with the hump in the back, but is split down the middle and can be separated. The e-mag frame is one solid hunk of metal.

Like the ULE rail, the ULE frame is milled out to the max. The stock frame is slightly heavier, I think around 3 or so ounces more.

There should be just 2 out there now. The older frames have a hump in the back, and are not lightened. The newer design(ULE) was originally used on the SFL and some Colored Emags. They are totally carved out and super sweet. I believe the AGDE mags had the hump. I dont know if they are all used up yet but I believe after they are gone (humpback) you will see all ULE frames. The new emags have the ULE frame, as do the Xmags. Hope this clears it up a little...;) :D
