Here's the thing.....I buy and sell alot of stuff up here in northern calif..and on various pb sites and im always trying to think of ideas of how to put a twist on selling stuff...and make it fun .Im thinking about raffling off this 88/4500 maxflow among other things..i would like to raffle this or something smaller and less expensive first..too see if i have any problems or complications...the entry would be $2.00-$3.00(have not decided on the raffle price) i would have peaple mail me 2.00-3.00 cash ..or paypal.....i would leave the envelops closed and paypal reciepts folded until the day of the draw, one of the receptionist here at our office will pick the winner out of a box..oh ya and no one with in a 50 mile radius of me is aloud to participate...couple of things

1)i will post my name and address w/work #and home# to insure that this is legit
2)if the envelope is empty we draw again

The + is that someone gets a Max flow tank for $2.00-$3.00

And last a couple of questions to u guys
1)Is their anything i forgot or i can do, to make this work better
2)And most importantly would u participate in something like this?
any feed back would be greatly appreciated:cool:

i think theres some kinda state by state laws on raffleing. or maybe even laws regarding raffles over the net or people out of state buying tickets.

i'm not too sure, but i thought i remember reading something about it

$3 for a maxflow i would definatly be interested. I would take my chances against 100 other people no problem.

That'll be a good idea making several entries, but you've got to put a limit to it...like 10 max per person

I probably would, but I might be within 50 miles...

ciscokid
03-12-2003, 01:28 PM
well that means i would need 100 entries which right now does not look like it will happen.....the 50 radius is at Sacramento south of me...and chico just north of me...so if u live in Bay area your around 80-100 miles from me,your fine.

10 sounds like a good limit to have.....that way no one player can flood the raffle entries and change the odds in his favor.Let me know of any thing, that u guys think of that we can do to make it work better.

I think its a great idea if you limit the # of people that can enter and limit the amount of $ a person can send. I also think it would be more fun if you had smaller stupid prizes for the next 10 people who were drawn. For example, a couple of O-rings or a steel braided hose. Something that you can find in your huge paintball "tackle box". Thanks!

Like Nato said, limit the number avaible tickets for each item. For example(using round numbers to make things neat). You need $300 to cover the cost of the maxflo/shipping. Sell 100 entries at $3. The participants now have a 1-10% chance of winning(based on the 10 entry limit mentioned above). $30 for a 10% chance of getting a new max-flo, I'm sure a lot of people would be interested. The entry limit would also prevent you from making a killing on the income and may aleviate some legal issuses?

To get this to work smoothly, you would have to assign a number to the particular raffle and probably go exclusively paypal. You would also have to come up with a way of getting the info out on how many tickets are still available for the item.

Here's something i didnt think of...what if i do not sell enough for example only sold 50 tickets...returning the money? to those who purchased, what easy way of doing that would their be? would paypal allow make it easy or difficult to return the money to those who purchased..???

what do u guys think

HUNTEEEEERRR!!!!!!!!!!! How u doing...always trying an angle arent u.:D

OK....im contacting Paypal to see what is involved on returning every ones money in case not enough raffles are sold....i migh do a mok raffle for an used jt-flez do about 38 tickets for 1.00 to cover mask, shipping and Paypal charges. Also i might do 5.00 raffles for the maxflow limit 3 that way its only 60 raffles i have to sell and the odds are a whole lot better for the guys participating....what do u guys think? what about a time limit? by when should i have sold the tickets needed to do the raffle, befor i return the money?....any way alot of questions, i hope u guys can come up with some helpful answers.

i'd buy a ticket maybe not for a tank though. we'll see how it works out and maybe you can put an emag up and charge 5.00 to enter and do a vary price thing like that

You could hold off the raffle until you have at least enough entries to cover your expenses. Or just have everyone who is interested wait until you have enough interest and then have everyone send at the same time. It would mean some work for you either way, but it would at least gurantee you get back what you put into it. I hope that made sense.

i would think doing it this way, and advertising it good, would more than make up for the 300 or so bucks the tank is worth

i mean 100 people at 3 bucks a pop is 300 bucks (obviously)

so if you were to post this on lots of forums you could make some hella cash
