K...I am annoyed at tanks. I want something that can bleed air out of the valve and hose while cutting the air off to the tank. anyone have an suggestions?

Pro-connect. There's a thread about 'em that I think is still on the main page, if not page 2. Male end on the valve, female end to the hose, and when you press the button, the two pieces seperate, the valve degasses, and the air coming frm the tank is held in the line. A little pricey, but most would say worth it. I was fine with my qd, but it came with my Emag in a trade, and I'm glad it did.

another option, if you can find them, is venom hardline deluxe. good luck finding them though. planet eclipse has them in england...

Cooper-T makes a gas-down that screws into an std fitting hole (1/8" npt like fittings or gauges)

i think bleed is the wrong word, as that suggests a slow let off...but with proconnects and slide checks are more like a small explosion.....\

i use a slide checka and it works great to let off all the air and block the line.

I just have a quick disconnect....as long as you're careful to hold the hose while you pull the locking ring back, it seems to work just fine.

Shooting off the air in the valve wont get rid of all the pressure?

Not with LVL10 it won't. You can have as much as 400 PSI in the line and the marker won't fire due to insufficient pressure to overcome the resistance that the LVL10 o-ring and carrier place on the piston.

Hence the need for a method to bleed off the remaining air.

I saw an ACI slide check for sale online. It looked pretty nice - not as bulky as others I've seen. Has anyone used one before? For some reason, I think I remember reading a very negative review on one. Is it any good?

what i have to end up doing is unscrewing the fieldstrip screw and rotating the valve until it bleeds.

But thats JUST with the level 10?

I don't know how much pressure is behind the valve but with a std mag bolt (ie Level 7) I would actually gas down by pulling the macro from the fitting.

With the level 10 this is not possible as the bolt does not move at all without a substantially higher pressure behind it.

I would like to know the numbers, maybe I'll snag some decent gauges to check it out.

yeah have fun getting the gas line off the valve if you have a on off tank with no dissconnect thingy.
i wasn't thinking and was testing my emag and i forgot about the level 10, and well.. it was quite amusing trying to get the hose off so i could get two guns seperated (ran macro from one tank on a gun to emag)

Now that I think about it, I am pretty sure there is extremely little or no pressure left in level 7 bolt, because I can take the macro off and cant hear or feel anything

The new Dead on Products bullet drop forward has an ON/OFF valve that when you turn it off it bleeds off the pressure.
read about it at www.deadonpaintball.com

I have a On/Off ASA and a quick disconnect hooked up to it. You just get the small explosion and not much else, haven't had any problems. It keeps the air in the tank and depressurized your system fairly easily.

Something tells me you have a screw in tank, and this is after you have unscrewed it. When you have an on/off ASA or an adjustable tank you need to worry about bleeding the lines.

I have a DOP without the feature and they will let me send ine in and get the new one for $10. That's cool! Cheaper than a pro-connect!!

I got tired of quick disconnects and slide-checks...

...so I got a dynaflow :)
