I'm assuming you got nominal from some tv show you watched or some game you played (mech warrior :p) when they say: "all systems nominal" it doesn't literally mean all systems 'good.'

I usually just laugh at people who invent definitions for words, but in this case it seemed to be spreading so I figured I'd try to put a stop to it :)

they may be ignorant or not hear well and be confusing the word Phenominal for nominal, or just shortening and thinking it has the same meaning

Yeah I tried in the last "nominal" thread. If you're going to invent a new definition use a worthless word! Like smurf or something. Not a good one.

Nominal doesnt mean good, in any form of the word. Its like saying my cocker is "illiterate" and expecting people to think it means awesome. It's just plain stupid

Do you see anywhere in this thread where I said that? :p

He called his cocker, and his friends mag nominal, so I referred to them as 'nominal cockers' and 'nominal mags'

I may be ignorant, but atleast I'm not someone who goes around pointing out the definitions of words because everyone else is.

You guys are pansies, I say a word and use my own definition, I use it a few times and you guys FLIP OUT. You go around looking up the definition and call me ignorant because I think nominal means good. We got the word nominal from phenominal, We were talking about our guns and calling them phenominal, some guy had the hiccups and it came out *hic* nominal. So it caught on. I'm not going to stop using it, you guys can call me ignorant, but this is a ****ing online forum, who cares what someone thinks about the word.

nominal means normal, so if it matters I'll say parnominal for Good, and unnominal for Bad.

Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal, Parnominal, Unnominal. OH NO :(

Hey Guys! Let's follow the crowd and do what Thordic does. Let's go call someone ignorant because he makes up a word, even though I use the word tricked all the time and I am not using the correct definition, who cares!
