My official stance is: No stance. They're both awesome. :D Weak, I know. But man, look at the work they do! I can't choose. :D

Who makes crazier stuff?

Punisher. By far.

most of the BS I have heard about Punisher on PBN is just that, BS. A lame smear campign.

I dunno who to vote for, Punisher seems to do more innovative projects, but Doc seems to have a nicer finishing touch to his.

Pun does some awesome work and so does doc... Hmmm... Well, I'm an avid "the whiteboard" reader so I'll have to go with doc for the moment.

ive had work done by both. They both do fantastic jobs...you cant really call one better than the other. Pun usually does more work on classic markers while Doc sticks to more mainstream. He also doesnt seem as innovative (not a knock though)

eh, id have to say pun just because the pneumatic mag was my favorite. I want to have it done, but my cashflow is represented by: f(x)=sin(3x)

Doc Nickel is a legend in the sport as far as i'm concered. everybody knows who he is. pun has very innovative creations as well. doc seems to concentrate on older markers, which i think is very cool. doc gets my vote.

I've often thought about this myself :)

There are probably other equally talented airsmiths out there, but these two are definitely the most well-known, I think.

As much as Punisher has done some REALLY cool stuff, I had to vote for Doc. His creations make me drool they are so pretty.

I have had custom work done by them both.

they both have communication problems all the time and for me it is hard to get status reports (something that is essential to a long-term project) out of either one.

Because of the lack of skilled craftsmen for "real" customization for paintball gear (putting a new reg or x-way on an autococker does not mean custom), I will probably go back to both of them.

Punisher has had more of my business than Doc (monetarily speaking), but not by much.

It depends on what I want done, and who claims to be least busy at the time.

Doc has some kewl short-run small items that I have purchased, like the fat-bob, and the new freak-back, and the doc-stock. Punisher built my e-blazer (that I traded for a PS2 before I even got it back from him).

Currently Doc has my blank sluggo and is milling it to his hearts content, and he also has another project that he is designing and building an adaptor to put a warpfeed on my tippman F/A (the old hopper/feed system is removed).

I have plans to get a custom pumper from Punisher, but I like to stagger my projects, so am kinda waiting for my sluggo to get back before I officially request what I want in the punisher-pumper I want.

SilverFox, here on teh boards has done a little work for me, in that I have his automag pump-arms, and have built several mag-pumpers. He also has my SC SniperII and is milling and anodizing it

There are lots of choices out there, but varying levels of expertise, and it seems that the "better" ones are the busiest (duh).

Really, my only challenge with Doc and Punisher is communications! I can deal with delays, as I consider all custom projects to be "long-term" - but if I ask for a status a couple times a month, that should not be too difficult to deal with.

While my experience with both of them has been pretty good, I have seen exemplary examples of their work (as in  that is beyond words), and I have seen ew.. as in... why did they ship that out...

Punisher did a lot of work to my current Phantom, which is totally awesome, I'm never gonna part with it. The Doc's P-stock I run on it is also great, but the finish is... a little lacking in a couple areas.

While both of them have had communication problems in the past, most stuff about them is grossly exaggerated. While I'm not sure if I'll ever send anything to Doc for custom work, the main reason for that is that he's located in Alaska... Punisher will definitely be getting more work from me in the future.

To add to the topic, I'd urge everyone to check out Ken's work (K&P Customs). Some of that is the most innovative I've seen, and he does it part time on a mill in his garage, whereas Pun and Doc feed themselves with their profits. Ken will be getting work from me early next summer. :D

well one in the same if you ask me, as a bussiness they need to know when to stop taking new orders and fill the ones they have... thats my major problem with what i hear about pun is he cant keep a time frame because he is always "Swamped".

oh god I placed an order with pun! I need that stuff back in 2 weeks, lets hope he's not "swamped"

wel i donno, this is what i hear from other people and i dont really have the whole story so i dont want to comment to far into it but it could very well have been the client being a lil whining jerk...

heh, despite what people say about punisher, I don't see him to be rude, mean, or anything people say. He's a nice guy and I did ask him if he was too busy to do custom work before I placed my order.
