Ok, about 2 weeks ago, I re-formatted my hdd. Now, I installed xp and all my programs back up, but a week ago, about 1 out of every 2 times I turn on my computer, it freezes a little after. Everything stops responding and makes an annoying "tick tick tick" sound, but really really fast. So you think its a virus, or just xp being lame?
And I cant find my norton anti virus disk, so I want your opinions first.

Oh sorry, should of made it clear. Its from my speakers.
XP usually doesnt have errors like that. try reinstalling it, or reformatting again. same thing happened to my friend and it was a virus on his computer AFTER he reformatted, so you might have to buy a new HD

Actually, if it is a noise coming from the speakers, it is most likely a corrupt file within XP... Perhaps you should reinstall windows and just tell us how it goes.

Go to Symantec (http://security.symantec.com/ssc/home.asp?j=1&langid=us&venid=sym&plfid=20&pkj=PINNIVFWMFKPXKBQWNQ) & do a "scan my pc" I think that is what it is called & they will remotely scan yr pc & if you have a virus you can download the fix 4 nuthin.
