Does anybody know what kind of solenoids the racegun uses? I was wondering if i could use this type of solenoid valve in place of the raceframe's?

RaceGuns Denmark uses SMC solenoids, the same maker that supplies 'noids to WDP for their Angels.

You have a pic of Pneutronics solenoids, very similar to those used in the original PVI Shockers. Where'd you get the pic?

I had a feeling you would find your way here. Here's the site. http://www.pneutronics.com/products/series11.asp

W00t Doc chipped in! He's the man.

When they select a solenoid for this application there are several factors to consider:

Operating pressure (psi): you want to be able to take at least 100 psi, but the unit should be able to withstand a blast of 140psi or so without damage.

Voltage: signal / logic voltage in most of the markers is 5, 5.5, 6, or 3.3 volts. So the solenoid must operate properly in that range.

Current Drain: Can you keep enough current to the solenoid to get your desired # of shots?

I think that you should be able to shoot 10,000 shots between charges / batteries as a minimum. This would be about 5 cases or a good day of 10 man for someone in the back :)

So you have to have a solenoid that won't be destroyed by the user misadjusting the LPR input to the device, and you have to be able to run it for a full day / preferably weekend of play.
