I wnt to the paintball store nearby today. I prefer to buy things online and they had %400 markup but NVaders were on sale so Im tempted to buy an NVader. It was fun watching all the newbies come in and ask dumb questions. Im a newbie but not a retard.

So anyway this guy comes in a with a tippy and asks if the rubber bumper. The guy says yeah and he says I want want of those pressure things on the bottom. The guy at the counter looks dumbfounded. So I say pressure regulator and he says yeah.

The guy says more money thats its worth and it probably wont help. Now from what I read and seen of CSR. Should they guy just quote the item and the price.

Now granted Im out of work alot and Im not the brighest peach in the lot but when did CSR start taking a back seat to the consumer? This guy has $129 new tippy and all he wants is a regulator?

Sales lost for OA paintball and I think I still might order some stuff online but they were nice enough to let me try on some different masks and they were on sale. So I might buy that NVader. Its $27.

Sorry, just something I've noticed.

I just wonder when it became so American to have a job getting paid to screw customers.

Maybe Im missing something. Arent customer service people supposed to help the customer. I mean if you tell the person the product is so crappy than whats the point of them learning about life on their own?

No ones forcing you to read my threads.

Maybe Im missing the point and oh yeah.

SEE YOU AT THE GAME YEVONE.

How is that crappy customer service? The kid got awed by some ad or other, just like all newbies do. The guy at the store told him straight up that it wasn't worth it. How the hell is that bad CS, or un-American? What do you want, the guy to sell him a $150 part that's gonna do him no good & end up as a paperweight? Heh, yeah. Right.

i hear you about the customer service. i don't like my local paintball shop. i went in there as a newb. trying not to sound newbish and get ripped off i did my research. i walked into that store and i asked for a 51/3000 crossfire. ok so they're not that common but he just gives me a blank stare. "what do you want?" a fif-ty one threeeeeee crossfiiiiiiire. more blank stare. fifty one cubic inch three thousand psi HPA system. at this point i'm thinking i must've said something wrong originally. but he still just looks at me dumbly. finally he turns around to the guy behind him and waves his hands like "what is this guy talking about?" thankfully the other guy knew what i was saying. he's like "yeah that's the little stubby right?" i was ecstatic that the guy knew what i was talking about. i yelled out YES! YES! THE STUBBY! and i held my hands up indicating the general size. :) of course he didn't actually have one. so he tries to sell me a 68/3000. i didn't have the money for that. that's why i asked for the 51 ci. i also needed a barrel so i asked for the tank and a 12" j&j ceramic for an automag powerfeed hopper right for $200. notice that i spelled out exactly which barrel i wanted. he gave it to me which was knocking off about $20 off his normal prices. so i went home happy. until i noticed he gave me a centerfeed barrel! then when i went back to exchange it a week later he didn't remember me. he tried to pawn off a cheaper barrel on me. ewwwww. i made him order me a powerfeed barrel. i decided i wasn't going to go there again.

unfortunately i did have to go there again because my on/off assembly had gone bad and i needed to see if i could get the part right away. i was hoping somebody would keep those in stock in order to service people's mags. no such luck. so he offers to order it for me. i shoulda just told him to forget it. he calls up NPS to see if they have any. he asks for something. i forget what he called it. i think he said on/off pin and something else. trying to be helpful i gave him the name "on/off assembly" he tell me "no that's like the whole gun. the whole back part is like one big on/off assembly" not on a mag it isn't. he didn't listen. he added like $10 to the price listed on AGD's online store. i am never under any circumstances going back there again. did i mention it was the same guy? and he's the owner?

Wow that sucks.

I could be totaly wrong about everything.

Just once I would like to have my own buisiness and do things my way. Instead of listen to some idiot shoot his mouth off for 8 hours a day and Yes TDS Im out of work but What Im saying is. This part.

Tippmann Techline Secondary Regulator
http://www.a-1paintballstore.com/pictures/img360.gif

Is $67, not $129 and labor at %200 markup $20.

So how does that add up to more than the guns worth to make it look good and maybe adjust the pressure if its not shooting right. If this guy has a good job and the Tipmman is a good gun I think its worth it to him and would look damn good.

I think people critisize America sometimes have a good point.

But I dont know anything.

I drive an Escort not a Jaguar and I own a Spyder not a Tippy.

I'm not sure but I think I missed something too. See you at the game star.

Gibby said that not me....we are a couple but don't share the same brain. If we did, he would be much smarter LOL

Gibby wasn't trying to be rude, he was just asking. Yes he's mah man and I'm defending him LOL Cause I wuv him!

The way I see it, most customer service sales agents don't get paid much so they really don't care....Just my opinion.

No problem.

Very true! But sometimes that's just the way it works out. If you don't take pride in your job, it'll show.

SBC- Unless it has thermal lenses, $27 is not a good deal. I got mine brand new, when they first came out, on eBay for $20. Even if it's a little more expensive, make sure whatever mask you have has thermal lenses. You can't play if you can't see! ;) I had the nVader, but they fogged all the time. Luckily, the day they fogged the worst was when I won a Spectra in a raffle. I havn't looked back since.

Mantis - I would like to know what store that was, as well. Thanks.

i don't even remember what the name of the place is. the sign out front doesn't say. it's on route 9. i think it's in freehold. could be manalapan or marlboro though. the sign out front just says PAINTBALL. the owner's name is dave. hope you're not friends with him or anything. ;)

Agreed.

Back on topic. If the guy behind the counter doesn't think $129 regulator is a good investment on a $129 gun, why is that bad customer service? He didn't spit on the kid, his opinion was different from yours. Have you ever had a job where people ask your opinion?

Also I struggled quite a bit reading through your original post, perhaps we've identified your work problem...

The question was.

How much does a pressure regulator cost?

Trench

I think I am neutral here...

He gave his opinion.... If you saw a really bad movie and your buddy goes "I going to see *Bad movie you saw*, how much does it cost?" You will give him your opinion, but the price... Same thing...
