Design the AGD Cougar *and the winners are!*

Hey everyone. After months of trying to design some vinyl graphics, I have come to the conclusion that every design I have tried to come up with was no good. Load even laid his hand on it but to no avail. So now I am turning to the AO family to help out. Here is the goal.

We need anyone, to design this cougar in a manner befitting the company. Any and all designs will be considered.

Here are the guidelines:

This is a 2000 Mercury Cougar with a silver frost finish and will have a purple neon underbody kit. Try to coordinate the colors accordingly. If you wish to make use of reflective stickers (they look pretty cool) please try to specify. I will try to have templates made of the cougar but if anyone can post pics on this post, please feel free to. The deadline will be set shortly as we would like to get this finished and ready before the Megameet.

The winner will be chosen by a select few of my choosing as well as rewarded with a warp of his/her choice (Sorry custom warps do not apply).

AGD is making a Factory Representin' Ride. It's a 2000 Cougar, Jon wants a way too cool graphic to be blazed across the sides, hood trunk lid, roof, quartering the windows, wrapping around the bumpers, that screams; LOOK AT ME, I'M AGD, YOU WANT TO BE THIS COOL......DUDE!

The car is a silver frost color, that will have purple neon under-body lighting to dazzle the minds of wussy Angel owners! :D The graphics should incorporate purple, or at least fully compliment the silver/purple base of the car.

also you could get the window tint customized with like smoke with chrome flames or anything if you can find a good tinter. also i would put it on 18s the would look really nice like a 5 spoke or something like that quantum tek wheels have some really cool designs i have a set of there wheels.the s-08 is amazing on a car. i think i put a pic of the rims on but not sure, i tried.

also what i did on my car i have a toyota and i put a vinyl toyota symbol on the back window and it came out really nice. it would be sweet to put the agd logo on the back window.i put in a pic of my ex managers car it is a nice sebring

alright, heres my first go using a logo i designed before... its pictured bigger because you cant really see it on the car because its so small.. around the bottom of the car it shows products like Xmag, Emag, Warp Feed..etc
I Think these are pretty good to start, but im 99.9% sure JAM will win :mad:

guys, less color. try to use a lot of gray and black, plus maybe some less intense purple and blue. Not much else will look anygood on this car. small spots, few in number, of some other less complimentary colors would be OK, but only up top, or the neon will make'em look wierd.

Also, any background has to be the car itself. A big splotch or background color will look real ugly, because of the transfer from the color to the car. Just leave your backgrounds A solid, strange color (like neon green), so the actual image can be cut out (for posting, use a white background).

just some thoughts.

Ok well....Here's my view on this thing. The automag Hex logo would be a GREAT decal for the car, so what i figured is, have the hex logo wrapping around the car. Then place logos where ever you feel neccessary.

On my pictures i used the yellow-orange type hex color just because thats the color they were on my ULE body packaging.

I definately thing the hex logo wrap would look awesome, just what color should i make it?

and i just repeated the logo on each side of the car but can/will change later.

From the pictures the hex logo line starts on the passenger side of the hood, wraps accross the hood, comes down on the driver side accross the door and near the tire well.

Again i continued another part of the hed logo wrap coming up from the passenger side front tire well, accross the door, and onto the back where it will continute.

any suggestions on changes?

I was thinking an Xmag on either side? or maybe a few scattered products, then leaving the Automags.org part for the rear end, or maybe a big sticker in the back window?


Instead of the 2 AO logos on the side, i was thinking maybe something about factory team logos, pictures of products, etc.

What exactly are you doing to this car? getting a full blown custom paint job, getting magnetic decals? sticker decals?

I can't photoshop..but for anyone who can maybe try using the AGD logo... Like for side vinyl take lions that look like they are leaping towards the front, on on each side then have the shield on the hood. Then along the sides of the hoods maybe in some nice light colored font, list the products (if thats what your looking to do)

Those are great starts guys. Ok here is some templates that Load made to help out. Sorry it took 2 days to get them posted. Ok as for a deadline, I think we will look towards the end of the month. But I will need to confer with the the guy that will be making the actual graphic. That is as of right now. Try doing something with different colors. Purple is cool but not necessarily my forte'. I actually like green but I know that green will not work with silver very well. Red, white and blue would be nice (we are an American company). Let me see them. I am really impressed with the way things are turning out. Also, welcome to our new members :)

Well here is my attempt, it took me 8 hours yesterday to draw and airbrush the graphic.

First it was drawn by hand scanned in and then airbrushed in photoshop.

The woman on the front you can't see but she has the hexogon logo for eyes and the woman on the side of the car is holding and xmag with a lion on her lap. They have been detail on the original versions, however I made the resolution very high on those to capture all of the detail, those are too much memory to post.

Anyhoo here they are, I know a pitifull attempt, but hey I needed something to do yesterday.

I'm not any good with imaging programs, but I have an idea...I'm not sure if anyone has seen the graphic that was on the side of the Skyline in Fast and the Furious, but it was a picture of a knight with its fist held forward. Maybe if someone could place an X-Mag in the knight's outstretched fist? And then color-coordinated with the silver paint (chrome vinyl, maybe?? oooo and purple trim!) Maybe its just a silly idea :)

Not to nitpick but wasnt that a Lancer? hence the Knight with a Lance in the graffic? its been a while so I very well could be wrong. In anycase I think Duzzs' looks very nice, but I would like to see more with graffics in that style

Here is a picture that I drew up, not to show you all my skills with Photoshop, for that isnt what this drawing competition is all about, but this is a way to portray my ideas. The car should be more simple than has been posted before. The mitsucrap spyder only has some performance things and a small written "spyder" on the back of the car. pretty simple, and it gets the job done.

I made my design kind of simple.

I was in the paint store and someone asked for splat stickers. They cost $3.

I think the graphic and the lettering should be simple and there should be some spplat stickers. Since its probably just going to be vinyl lettering.

why do you think its probably going to be just vinyl lettering? I've seen some pretty intricate vinyl decals...most of the designs people have posted could be done pretty easily.

It'll be a combination of full color digital imagery and vinyl letting.

i still like the idea of an x-mag on the side of the car... and if you've seen the city busses with the shrink-wrapped ads on them that can go over windows and still let you see out and whatnot... i think that would be an AWESOME idea for the cougar... get them made with an x-mag on it and then just put it onto the sides of the car... simple, and darn flashy too!

then have the big AGD winshield sticker on the front window of the car, and then have the lion logo on the hood, and the AO logo on the back bumper or trunk

alright, i spent some time drawing my version of the AGD cougar. some things i must explain.

-that is a Cougar (left) vs. a Lion (right) i thought it was catchy, the car is a cougar, and the lion represents AGD. what i was thinking is reflective stickering. chrome inside, and a reflective blue trim outline, and blue eyes. the trim, goes around the whole figures. the lions mayne, so it still stands out. Blue trim, chrome inside.

-the splats, are paintball splats. choose from colors yellow, blue, red, and purple. those can be reflective as well.

-the stripe along the side, is to be purple reflective. it will match the neon lights underneath.

-The AO logo, if you choose can be reflective or just a standard sticker. i think standard, with blue inside, and black bordering the octogons. the words "automags.org" should be yellow.

-the lettering "AGD" in the middle of the door should be blue inside, with chrome reflective bordering it.

Onto the front

-that is the standard AGD logo on the top, i enclosed my sticker, for everyone to see how i think it should look. my drawing is not very good, cause it was a sketch, and i could show proof of the look with the sticker. that is a general placement. I also think that the colors should stay true to the sticker.

-the purple reflective line goes around the front as well.

- that is another "automags.org" type symbol. it can be seen at the top of the forums, and that should be placed that way in the center.

- you could throw in some more splats if you like as well.

Onto the rear(not shown)

- i could not find any great pics of the back to use, so i will verbally say it. what i was thinking, was a wrapping picute of all the AGD products of markers. they are at an angle to each other, but all lined up. going from 68, Minimag, RT pro, Emag, Xmag or somehow. you can throw a few more splats on there as well. the reflective purple line goes around the back too, matching where it is at the side.


I hope some of you like my design, i have no intention to win, but maybe help some of you out, with other opportunities to get another design in.

Well I have no photoshop skills and no scanner to load up a drawing , but here is my idea.
On the silver base of the paint write Airgun Designs around the car starting on the back quarter panel and wrapping around the car to the other quarter panel.The end of Airgun and the beginning of Designs on the hood , wrapping around.The Lion logo should be in a "fade" on the hood visible with the lettering , but not bright enough to detract from it in a silver/grey.I'm no painter , but something along the line of a holographic effect on the logo.
Color scheme should be lettering in purple to match the neon, outlined in a black grey , fading into the silver of the car.In other words , not definate outlines for the lettering it just fades from the purple , through the black/grey and out to the silver.
The top(roof) should have the honeycomb and plug the website.
Put some ground effects around and some 18" blings on there , tint the windows and it should be stylin......
