gutting a maxflow

i recently have encountered a dillema. I am about to purchase a new reg (sidewinder) for my impulse, and i wont have enough money left for a drop/asa, so i figured id use my current bottomline maxflow... but that wont work out. i will just starve the imp, and get horrible shootdown (most likely). So now im searching for a way to "gut" my maxflow (if its possible)so it will just serve as an ASA rather than starving my poor little impulse..

lol@ that.. all my local shops are a combo of gun/paintball shops.. they always try to get my bro to join the NRA when we go there.. they dont even know what an ASA is.
