Hey AO,

I thought I would share a letter from Doobie's wife. We need to remember why some of our teamates haven't posted here in a while.

Trina, of course I'll sign the marker!

That is really really cool of you to do. My Dad served in the 101st in VietNam so I have nothing but respect for everyone in the armed services especially the Airborne. Hope he makes it home safely to use his x-mag.

I talked to doobie like two days before he left. He told me to make sure his xmag was at the plane when he got off of it, oh he also said to bring Trina also.

These are some of the best people I have ever known. I meet them off of AO, when they were moving down here.

Doobie is an damn good man. Currently the owner of the heaviest mag on the planet. But that will be remedied when he gets the sweet X-Mag goodness.

God speed, and the best of luck to you Doobie. We all wish you a safe return. :D

We cant really trust out government to go into these countries and fix all out problems but...

We can trust our honest, good and hardworking people like doobie to go in and make sure these people are taken care of. (food, water and safety.)

We have more problems than ever, after 911 for sure and all the same problems we ever had. Especially communism and threats from countries like Korea, China and Russia. Where I live Soscialism is creeping into the East caost America. Welfare is rapent, not many jobs and many other problems. So in a way our soldiers are our civil service people, just like priests, police or the fireman. A priest cant fix a terrorist but a soldier sure can.

Some of our soldiers been sent and some will be sent. I hope the get home soon so they can get some R&R.

I dont think it would be as personal if he were to laser engrave it. If you were to sign it before the final stage of the anodizing process (where you seal the finish after the color has been added), would that work?

Tom, thanks for doing this for one of our deployed soldiers. Us soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines really do appreciate the little things that some companies/people do for us while we're deployed. Thanks again Tom.

You are all awsome! I did not expect Tom to put that letter online...However, now that he did I want to thank you all for your comments. It means a lot. Take care and since I won't be playing this summer due to knee surgery--get out there and play some good p-ball for Doobie and I!

Yamz - I did not mean to leave out the Coast Gaurd or the Seabees. I was always under the impression that "sailors" meant both the Navy and the Coast Gaurd. Also, I didn't know that the Seabees weren't Navy. I guess you learn something new everyday.

HHHOOOOAAAAHHH!!!!!

Tina our thoughts and prayers are with you and Doobie.
As a former little green airborne monster with a CIB myself I can promise you that you are in his thoughts everyday. A big thank you to you both. Being the wife of a grunt is the hardest job in the military (just ask my ex she wasn't up to the task).

Any man who would trade his freedom for protection does not deserve either.

It's good to know that there are people out there that will do just little something special from someone else. Tom I'm glad to know that you are one of those precious few people.

telling a seabee that he is just navy is the same as telling a marine that he is a sailor as well because the all work for department of the navy trust me seabees are very diffrent back on topic i was just wondering how you are going to get the signature to not rub off tom

This has got to be one of the best things I've ever seen. Tom, you are a great man for this, and even if you can't get your signature onto the mag I can surely say he will be proud just knowing that you posted this letter and took the time to do so.

To Doobie and your wife, I wish you the best and hope all is well on the homefront. If ever I met you I will gladly shake your hand for fighting for me and my families freedom. Having two family members in the service (Brother and sister-in-law) I know how hard it can be. They havn't been deployed yet but have been told several times that they might be.

Godspeed to you Doobie.

Squids, Jarheads, Zoomies, Coasties, Legs, and airborne gods alike we are all on the same team.

As far as Marines being the "men's dept" ask a corpsman about that.

Seabee's they are squids too but never JUST navy. They are specialists and the marines would never hit the beach without them clearing the way.

Airforce..hmmm... what can I say they sleep late ruck light and ride a bike for PT tests...but damn they can put some ordanance on target.

I served in the Army and the Navy. I have trained Marines in small unit tactics. I have jumped with the airforce. Stopped drugs with the Coast guard. I have stood on the flight deck and and taken a tin can roll that would have most marines puking in there kevlar.

The rivalry is great.. its tradition and it builds Espirit De Corps. But don't think another servicemans job is easy or unimportant it takes us all.

To those guys still in and serving with pride.
Keep your eyes on the horizan and your knees in the breeze.
Thank you all for your sacrifice.

to take things to heart is one quality of a seabee it shows how much pride we have in our job, service, and country of course it does sound like we get very defensive but you would too if you joined the seabees too.... think about being on every major marine corp battle since march of 1942 most of which could not have happened with out us we got you on shore.... even the first seals were seabees look at what seabees of today have to live up too but we understand we are on the same side and we do know which way to point the barrel if doobie dont get him first im after sadam when i leave here
