LX Mag FSDO?

I'm finding that after leaving my mag gassed up for more than, say, ten minutes, I get some wicked, Impulse-like FSDO--often, the ball doesn't even clear the barrel. Successive shots seem just fine, and I don't hear a leak anywhere.

Any ideas on what might cause this?
