Hey everyone! I just have a little question. I currently have a 68 Automag Classic, and I'm running c02. It's running well, although I'd like to put N2 on. Is it better to go with a cheap steel tank, or is it worth spending the extra money for a fiber wrapped tank? Thanks!

go 68 cubic inches at least
the steel tanks are heavier and
usually too small

a 47 or 48 cubic inch tank doesn't hold near enough air for a mag.

Go for a 4500 68 preset. Best bang for the buck in mag tanks. Remember, you can always fill a 4500 to 3k, if you can't get 4500 fills.

my 45/45 flatline only gives me around one hopper and 3 tubes...if you shoot alot you will want a bigger tank.

the only real different between fiber tanks and steel tanks are their weight. but i would say that you do need at least a 68/3000(my crossfire serves me very well) and i get about 600 shots per fill, i also have an x-valve too, so that will make it less efiecent.

Yea... What do you mean by 45/45? Also, where can you buy 'em? Also, I don't shoot to much paint. I'm kind of a low funds guy (at least, for now). So, I'm looking for something that will get me ~500+ shots per fill.

45/45 is a 4500 psi tank that holds 45 cubic inches (? I think it is inches) of compressed air.

68/3k or 3000 would be a 68 cubic inch tank that will take 3000 psi

You can also get a bigger tank around 88-90 cubic inches.

Newer tanks are typically 4500 psi. Also you want to look at the Date on the tank, as a fiber tank will have to be rehydro tested about every 3 years, although some of the newer fiber tanks are every 5 years.

Alright, thanks. How many shots would I get out of a 45/45 on my 'Mag? Also, someone mentioned something about not being able to get 4.5k psi fills at some places. Would this make it hard for me to be able to find fills? Oh, and one more thing. About how much do 3k or 4.5k fills cost (on average). Thanks for all your help! :)

In upstate NY it usually runs about $1.00 per 1000psi

I would call your local field that you play at and find out what pressure they fill to. You can also ask about the price. I have a crossfire 72 ci/ 4500psi fiber wrapped tank. It works great. Something you need to watch for when buying a tank is the hydro date. The new tanks should be 5 year, If you are buying used, expect a three year tank and hydro runs around $25. Plus you have to find a place to do it. Hope this helps.
