Chat Party TUESDAY Night! New Software Looking for 500+ People!!

We think we have found NEW SOFTWARE that should allow us to have 1000 people in the chat room. Of course we need to test it so this coming Tuesday May 6th at 7:00pm Central time meet in the new chat room for a test run. We will be giving away 5 warps and if we get over 400 people I will give away an RTpro!!

We will be doing the RTpro contest at 8:00pm central. If you can, just pop in for the contest so we can load up the room and test the software.

If you have never been to an online chat party you should come check it out its lots of fun.

We will try and change the chat page to login to the new room before Tuesday. For you MIRC guys login to code-red.delaware.net
to get to the room.

I can set you up software to allow you to have 5000 people. But your server would have to handle it.

Assuming you use mIRC, type "/server code-red.delaware.net" without the quotes & you'll be good to go :) :cool:

If you logged on to the right server by setting it in your options you should have seen all of the server information pop by really fast.

To connect to a channel, you either use the mirc channel window that will pop up or you type: "/j #channelname" so if the channel name is Automags type "/j #Automags" without the quotes, in the window where all of the server info popped up.

I have used mIRC for years, and I have never heard of a subscription... Once in a while, a thing will pop up telling you you to register it, but just close it and it keeps working.

To get to the chat go to http://www.automags.org/chat/chat.shtml

Then just make a name and connect don't mess with any thing else unless you use mIRC.

If you don't use mIRC or don't know what it is just ignore what TK said.

I think it would be fair to have a random drawings because for most of us its challenging enough just to get on...and if quiz was asked to answer, then there's always a selected few that would know all the answer. Then that'll leave about 90+ % of the members that's left out and showed up for nothing.

Very likely because of the prize, I'll bet that there'll be a lot of school skipper, sick calls, etc... just to be there. Random generated lottery picks out of all the members are best bet. At least if I lost, I wouldn't have to blame on anyone such as server lags in answering questions, or its insider tips.. etc.

Just to show up.. have fun.. and randomly picking winners... BEST BET!

I'm still worried about someone logging in through the AO Java chat or another web-based chat multiple times, because it would be difficult for a server to remove clones without removing everybody using that web-based chat. Maybe members should receive a PM with a unique password and then use that to submit an entry to a pot? I dunno... I just don't want some loser ruining it all just for better chances at a prize.
