I've been using my Shocktech drop and KAPP on/off for a year or 2 now and I've been pleased with the drop but I don't like the KAPP on/off cuz I have to crank it so hard to turn it on and really hard to turn it off. Today somehow I crossthreaded it and it's shot now. I was at the field so I had to go with the old KAPP Drop Zone and a regular on/off adapter. I don't like this drop at all but I really like the regular on/off I was using cuz it takes no effort at all to either turn on the tank or turn it off. I'm looking to find a new on/off that will work with my Shocktech drop so it needs to have the dovetail groove on it. What does everybody use ? What do you all recommend ? I would like an on/off that's not so stinkin' hard to turn when it's under pressure.

Here's my Shocktech setup with KAPP on/off. KAPP on/off's suck !

Here's the on/off I had to use when my KAPP on/off went down. This on/off rocks but it won't work with the Shocktech drop.

For an on/off, definately go with the Empire. I got mine a few days ago, and It's so smooth! Dovetail and it takes very little effort to turn the knob. (plus the knob stays in place, the pin on the inside is the only part that moves in and out)

I like my Warped Sportz on/off (same as a CP)

Is the Warped Sportz on/off really hard to turn on and off ?

Where did you get the Empire at ? I've never even heard of it.

The Custom Products on/off suit me just fine.

Wow! Thanks for finally revealing to me what PIECE OF CRAP BREAK YOUR HAND on / off I have!

I hate it! Now I can finally steer people away from it

888paintball (http://www2.888paintball.com/browse.asp?plid=AIR+SYSTEM&csid=493339024873148232164505010986349249472735140 75791&icid=ON%2FOFF%27S) has the empire, I know. If your local proshop goes through National Paintball Supply to get their merchandise, then they will have one, too.

I love it. It's smooth, plus the red matches my ULE body perfectly

excerpt from 888paintball.com's site for the Empire on/off...."Unlike most On/Off's that screw down to release the gas or air this bad boy clicks into place so no more of the air shutting off in the middle of play."

Hey Cryer, how does this thing work ? I thought all on/off's screwed down to turn on the tank. What does it mean it clicks into place ?

wait! Definitely go w/ the Shocktech on/off!!!! It fits perfectly( very tightly) with the shockteck drops, and look great, and best of all, are the highest quality on/off I've ever seen. I've a Kapp on/off and a Shocktech....go shocktech...its excellent.

I replaced my shocktech with the Empire. Trust me.

Well, no, not really. it does screw in and out, but the knob doesn't move back and forth. When you turn the knob, the pin inside (that presses the tanks pin) is threaded, so it moves in & out. It is 50x smoother than the shocktech on/off. Everyone should sell their shocktech on/off and buy an Empire!:p

I like my CP on/off. It isnt hard to turn at all, and it fits nicely on my Shocktech drop. I wouldnt mind trying one of those empires, but i dont have one, so this will do.

Does the Empire on/off have 2 ports on it ? I'm adding a purge valve but it will only work obviously if the on/off has an available port for it.

Well, I just got my updated DOP drop and on/off. The on/off has a degas feature that works great. Yu can't use it on a rail mount, which is annoying, but I like the drop. I used to use a 114 cu tank so the long drop was necessary. Now i just like the drop and the on.off. Look at the pic in my sig for the drop and on/off and here is a link to it.

There are other styles of drops, some shorter etc. This works rgeat and there are many colors. Just my suggestion.

Here's the on-off ASA I just picked up... it's currently on a CP Microdrop. it's so frickin' sweet. forward on the lever is off, back is on. So easy. So good. So much lovin' in such a lil' package.

Hey funkmunky56 :

Where did you get that on/off and how much was it ? Does it work well ? Does it take some effort to move the lever ? (I wouldn't want to accidentally bump it off while playing.) Can you get them in black ?

funkmunky56

I'm not sure exactly WHO makes them, except that it says "ideal" on the far side of the lever pin, and then there's that "I" on the side you can see...

I got mine from www.stalkerpb.com go there, and write to the owner (Keith), and ask about "Ideal lever on-off ASAs"... I think he's got them in nickel-plate AND in black... they're not listed on the website, but he's got 'em in the store. :-)

oh yeah... it takes a little effort. enough where you're not gonna be knockin' it on and off during play. The swing is set so that even if you knock it some, it won't turn off until its close to straight forward

CFD323

When you open it, how far back is the lever ? Is it basically horizontal ? I've got a bleed valve that I would put in the port right behind the lever and I need to know if the bleed valve would interfere with the lever.

funkmunky56
05-13-2003, 04:31 PM
bleed valve wouldn't work in there... the valve can swing all the way around... and it's reversible, if you have a good set of snapring pliers :-)

put the bleeder somewhere else, or get a slidecheck

I just use the QD at my valve to bleed

CFD323
05-13-2003, 04:35 PM
The bleed valve I have only works in that extra port.

Do you have a LVL10 in your gun ? I thought that with the residual pressure left in the valve after turning the tank off that you wouldn't be able to get the QD off.

I contacted Stalker PB on the drop and they said the on/off part won't work on any other drop but theirs. That sucks since I like my current drop.

funkmunky56
05-13-2003, 06:00 PM
that's strange, cuz it fits on my CP microdrop just fine...

whatever. buy one anyway, it's sweet.

Did you buy the on/off separately or did it come as a kit with the drop included ?

Sorry munky, I meant the drop that MadMatt has.

Yes it has duel ports.
