how to tell mags age

how do u tell how old a mag is??

i hear Sn arnt really a good way of going about them. but i kinda do any way. like my retro is a 026** so if i see one thats in like the 1000's ill take it as being older.

also if it has a spacer or spring in the powertube

Cut a cross section out then count the # of rings it has. 1 ring = 1 year or sometin lyke that.

I can actually see someone taking out a hacksaw and cutting their valve in half to "count the rings"
