my FIRST actual project gun that involves more than just bolting on parts here and there... this one takes some custom work too!... and a bit of cash :)

to make a long story short, i am turning my shortblock cocker into a completely stock-legal pump marker

pics will explain the rest:

it's not a danny love, a guy named jay in alabama designed it

and it's not stock, u can stack exra balls in there

Sir Chopsalot
05-20-2003, 08:52 PM
yea since there are afew balls stacked it isnt considered stock class legal, however that is pretty fricken cool:D

i guess i can play with this in modified stock... im not sure if 6-packs are allowed in mod-stock...if they are, i'm hunting one of thoes down!

i think that on the racegun website, they have a short block cocker, almost identical. but anyway, man i bet that thing is light, and why are u making a pump, i liked it as it was in the first pic.

if i dont sell my imp, i'm going to put the micro rock on the imp for an LPR, and the ram has gone anal... along with the 3-way and i dont feed like spending $60 on pneus right now... this whole project is costing $50 max...

$15 pump kit
$25 thread/tap set
$0.50 90º elbow
$7.50 bottomline ASA

i already had all the 10rnd tubes, 12g cartriges, and the adjustable stock... and of course the cocker itself

edit: yes, it is VERY light... i can hold it with one hand at arms-length and shoot it without struggling to hold it up :D

You should just drill a hole in the side of the vert feed neck instead of that ugly elbow, it'd be more professional. You'd need a plug or somethin for the hole for vert feed though

interesting concept.

And he would be stuck with a hole in the tube, that would suck. I would stick with the PVC elbow, you may want to go back to the autococker.

wanna make it stock class legal? remove your hopper adaptor neck, it should screw off, most modern autockcer ones do. then get a larger elbow then glue an inner piece in, and wedge the feeder tube into that. then put the larger elbow on the threaded portion of the feed neck, or what is left of it after you unscrew the part. then no stacked balls, sc legal

its a 99 cocker... i've tried to screw it off, and it sure as hell won't come off

and i wanna keep it with the vert feed so that 1. i dont damage the one-of-a-kind body, 2. i will probably want to make it back into an autococker... or atleast put a regular hopper on it later :)

and when you play rec ball with a pump gun... you have ALOT of fun :)

i still need a team to join... somewhere near milwaukee... anyone need a player?

Actually a few shops are making the short block cockers again, as opposed to just ProTeam back in the day.

Most verticle feeds are not removable, in fact PP just started there removable feednecks either this year or last. Also a true WGP body the feedneck does not thread into the marker, instead the feedneck threads onto the marker.

Also if you are going to be running straight 12 grams, you may want to think about some different valving. If it is a 99 cocker, banjo bolt should tell you, then you are better off than the 2k. I beleive that is the year they modified the valve. You probably want a more restrictive valve, for efficiency reasons mostly, you should be able to get under 300fps...But how many shots is the question.

All in all nice cocker there, the the Shortblocks are a hard to find item.

Nice start... lots of internal work to do if you plan on the unregged 12gram approach.

I have 33 good shots per 12 gram on the gun below. Feed block and milled were by Brad Nestle of Paintball Maxx and all of the tuning was done by myself and my friend "Sergi."

Its not as easy as we think. new valve body, new bolt, modified hammer, devolumizers, spring tensioners....

This particular gun can have the stock feed removed and an angel feed threaded on. It started as an Air America cocker body.

Just takes time and some thought for the co2 approach. it seems its becoming a lost art to make guns work well on 12 grams. btw, most 'smiths said my 33 shots was darn good. I have the actual numbers poste don the guild somewhere, and also in the paintball maxx section of the PHOG.

WOW! That looks REALLY good. I am going to be having Turtle make me one pretty soon. But mine will be a normal cocker and sometimes pump cocker ..

either way it will be running either a 4oz co2 or 13ci CA.

and I am going to be using that very same barrel :)

we can start a mini marker cult

Nice guys,
I hope to start a pump project soon and I am leaning towards the cocker camp.

I love the short block, I think I first saw it done on a cocker woners group, it isnt cheap but very cool looking.

i also have a PUMP MAG in addition to the pump cocker that i'm building right now... the pump mag has pump rail, old skool trigger frame from WGP (when AGD started they got their frames from AGD), old skool sear , pump body, back bottle ASA... but the valve is being extremely anal and refuses to shoot under 400 fps
