Your tank that is. How big is your tank and what size/pse/brand do you reccomend? I just got my x-valve and my Pure Energy 48/3k isn't giving me diddly on efficiency. Sure they were only like 2k fills, but I'm just not even getting an 1/8 of a case. (250 PB's) Any suggestions?

I would recommend a 68/4500 flatline. Adjustables are the shiznit for retros.

Well lets say I'm not made of money. I'm lookin at around 200. Or is it worth the money to get the flatline, by the way which one?

If you like the way your trigger feels on the PE's 800psi output then a bigger preset should be fine for you on your budget. Look at a 68 or 88/4500 PE or Crossfire .

Look for a 68ci or 88 ci 4500 psi screw in tank, like a Crossfire or Pure Energy.

Ok here's what I narrowed it down to:

Crossfire
Crossfire 72ci 4500psi Fixed Nitrogen System 209.99
Crossfire 68ci 4500psi Fixed Nitrogen System 205.99

PMI
PMI Pure Energy 72ci 4500psi Fixed Nitrogen System 215.99
PMI Pure Energy 68ci 4500psi Fixed Nitrogen System 205.50

All 4 have a set output of 800psi. Kinda. The Crossfire is a little confusing See? (http://www.actionvillage.com/paintball-gas-systems-nitrogen-systems-crossfire-nitrogen-systems.html)

Any other opinions would be helpful. Thanks for your help guys and gals.

I just picked up a 88 stubby. (same length as 68) pure energy for 220. From what I read, 72 are actually closer to 76, so you get a bit more than you think. I would definitely go with 72s, and size in about same anyway. (all of them are 5 yr tank as well)

I've had both crossfire and PE, and both are good tanks/regs. no real difference in performance.

Especially, if you are only getting 2k fills, go with biggest tank you are comfy with. one of the reason for my going to 88. I also have older 68/3k PE lightweight steel tank which I use as backup. That works well too and not much heavier than fiber tank.

From your choices, I'd go with the Crossfire 72/4500... I've had both crossfire and PE tanks and they both worked really good. i would give the edge to the crossfire just because i like it's gauge a lot better than the PE one- it seemed more accurate to me.

but, as for size, I'd go as big as you can, 'cause the lev10 is a gas hog.

id say call up crossfire instead of pbgear and buy the new 70ci 4500psi "peanut" tank. its shorter than a 68, like a 45ci, and a lil wider so you get more air per fill. thats the best route imho.

yeah i have the pmi 48/3k tank also,I get about 250 shots, which really pisses me off! The tank is just to small and just to freakin heavy!

You guys say "stub" and "peaunut" can't find these on their site or on pbgear. Is it just a nick name or what? Definately going with the 72 tho.

heres part of an email i got from crossfire. to get a peanut, call them . " call Chris @ 269-383-1111 They are $210 and you get your
choice of
800 or 450 out put"
oh and also, hemorrage, while some sites wont say "stub" basically, if its an 88ci tank, and it doesnt look long as he!!, its a stub, teh non stub 88's are those really friggin long, foot long hot dog (lol) looking ones:D to my knowledge, no store has the 70 ci 4500 psi "peanut" yet. do a search here for peanut and you should be able to find "dirtybunny"'s pic of one. i highly suggest calling crossfire and getting the peanut, its got a great combination of size and capacity, its the way to go, go 4 it.:D

*EDIT*
i know u say u want to go with the 72, but go for the 70. its a little bit shorter, and is still an overall better tank. imho one reason i like it over the 72 is cuz the 72's were made by carleton, and dont get me wrong they make great tanks, but their carbon fiber outsides arent very smooth, rather it has fiber bumps, and theyre made that way, but its not like a smoothe level flat surface. meanwhile, i belive the 70 ci tanks made by either luxfer or maybey catalina, but the outside is like my pmi tank, very smooth and flat. so personally, id go with teh 70 ci

If you are going preset, get Crossfire. Tank size is a personal preference. To my knowledge 72ci tanks only come in the "peanut" size.

i dont think crossfire even buys the 72's from carleton anymore. for their "peanut" tank, they changed their tank supplier to luxfer or someone, so now the current "peanut" tank is the 70ci. heres a link to the thread of dirtybunnys peanut with a pic of it next to a 68 ci peanuts! (http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=81961&highlight=peanut) as soon as i sell my 68 im going to buy a peanut

Ever think of a 45-45? I LOVE mine, its a crossfire. I got a steal, 100$ for a brand new 45 45 and i sold my 68 for 100.

They get the 72 and 88 phat tanks from Structure Composites industry(www.scicomposites.com).

I myself use a Crossfire 88/4500 phat tank high prssure. I purchased it from Crossfire website for 190, but there at 225 now.

You might also want to consider centerflag's hyperflow preset screw-in tanks...I personally think that they are great tanks for the money

Ok so before I order and spend this weeks paycheck I have a few more questions. Any idea on how many shots that'll get me when full? Also if I'm just getting say 2500 or 2000 psi fills how many more shots will that get me over my 48/3k (which gets like 250). Our scuba isn't always full so that'll be the usual fill. Also is it worth getting the 45 if I can't get 4500 fills? Lastly when I order from "Chris" (is there anyone else?) how long do I wait? Thanks for putting up with my questions guys and thanks for the advice!

well chris is just the guy i talked to. just call him, it really doesnt matter so i dont know why it matters to u. anyways, just go with 4500 so if one day you get higher fill at home or the field or w/e , u can take advantage of it. the 70 ci 4500 with about 3000psi should get u plenty of shots. just remember, when u only get 2500psi fills, your gonna get less shots, and thats the way it is

I have a Pure Energy 88/4500 preset, claiming to be at around 850 psi I think. This works for me, although I don't exactly have the greatest marker ever, and if I had the money I'd probably invest in an adjustable tank. This one was fairly cheap however, $130 shipped I believe, so not a bad deal at all.
