I've been thinking of getting a pistol to play around with, the only one I know of is the PGP. Are there any others to consider?

$300 and change, Tunaman may have a few left. He bought a bunch from AGD a short while back. So there are a lot more floating around now.

What about the PT xtreme? I always thought it looked cool (for a paintball pistol anyways) and they have a gnarly police officer in the ad!

$300 plus is a little more than I can spend :(

Anyone have any experience with the PT extremes?

The Splatmatic XJ-40, my friend had one of those, it worked ok, except it took .40 paintballs that you had to get off the internet (or a self defence store if you have one around) It was really cheap too, he got it for $20 bucks off ebay

yeah, I hate mine. That's why I got the sydarms.
It's made by 32 degrees, just think of what kind of quality that brings to mind.

There's also one called the Sidekick Semi. They looked pretty nice and well thought out in terms of design. They have some nice features stock and get pretty good reviews.

Go for the Sydarm if you got the cash for. If not, go for the PGP. In my opinion there are only two pistols, Sydarms and PGPs.;)

PT Extreme or a Zeus.

I had a Sidekick Semi for a while...other than the fact that I rarely used it, by only complaint was the lack of a ball detent. It's an open bolt blow forward design, similar to a mag. Great warrantee on those things. The manual actually says that even if you "run it over with a tractor" they will repair/replace it for a one time $20 charge.

Maybe we can talk Tom into making a ULE Sydarm kit that will retro fit any mag into a Sydarm. ULE Sydarm slugs... third party custom milling... ULE Sydarm Emag...

I had a sidekick stock class for a while. Worked great. I assume that the semi would be just as good.

DO NOT get a pt extreme, pt enforcer, or punisher (has noting to do with punisher customs). i know someone who went through all three of those guns and through all theree he has leaking problems, cocking problems, and double feeding problems. they are junk. get something that is well made. there are only 3 good pistols that you can rely on: zeus, PGP, and sydarm

Shot/played with a zeuz... looked hella nice and shot really well for a pistol, got around 25 shots off a 12gram and it was quite accurate and the range was pretty good for shooting 270fps.

sydarm with 21" barrel = best gun ever.

I had a PT Extreme and I liked it (had the vertical feed adapter and bottom line on it). Nice pistol but the ball detent needs to be replaced, the 32 Degrees detent sucks (double feeds). I was considering fitting a e-frame to it before I sold it. Now if I want pistol style play, I just use my Phantom with the micro kit.

Zeus is a great quality pistol. I know it's 200 canadian, but they always overcharge at the canadian sites, so I think they might be in the 100-120 range US. They realy work great and will last. BTW that sidearm with the Loonngg barel is the best.

The Zeus' are just PT Enforcers I think. I had one of those, a silver one. It worked pretty good.

NONONO! Zeus' are made by Armotech, completly differen't design and stuff. Zeus' are real high quality, PT Extremes are cheaply made by NPBS(I think National).

there is also a Core ZX which is an almost 100% copy of the Zeus but at a slightly higer price.

No, Im talking about the PT Enforcers. They are totally different than the Extremes. I think they looks alot like the Zues ones.

I haven't heard anything good about any Armotech pistols. As a matter of fact, my local shop tech hates them. As for me, I have several pistols that I own and shoot (some I shot more than others) In no particular order I have a brief revue:

Nelspot 007 - From the beginning it's solid and can get the job done. (currently on display)

Crossman 3357 - It's OK but the .50 cal thing keeps me from really liking it along with no velocity adjustment. But cool for a 6 shooter.

AGA .62 - This is the one I haven't gotten to shoot paint out of yet (no .62 balls yet) but it has similar action to the 3357 with a differant type of loading system.

BE Eagle .68 - Plastic, trigger slightly better than a spatmaster - Grip is to fat - poorly made. Looks cool until you try to shoot it.

CIP SuperStock - Excellent stock pump pistol (If you can find one it's worth the $$)

PT Enforcer - Just Crap all the way around - I've always had something wrong with it.

PT Extreme - Blows the enforcer away - nice grip, nice trigger - 12-gram quick change is nice too. Velocity adjuster is cheap though.

SideKick - Very light, shoots pretty straight - CO2 in the grip done nicely - trigger is fair but not good enough - velocity adjust not that good

AGD Sydarm - Maybe I'm biased on this but I think this is my best semi pistol. Shoots great - Good trigger pull - Velocity is great - (about 20 good shots from 1 12-gram) - Looks great - only real drawback is just 8 shots can be loaded and you gotta make them count.

As with any marker, you have to use a certain style to play with each individual pistol. These aren't for the sprayers - you gotta have some skill to go out with just a pistol in hand - Loading, both air and paint - and trying to make every shot count. The battles of pistolero can be rough but when you take out that guy with the Angel it feels so sweet.

Someone should make sydarm kits for ULE bodies. Just make an ammo tube that holds a 12 gram in the back, paintballs in the front, and thread it with angel vert rise threads, then just run macro line or something from the tube to the gun. Doesnt seem like it would be too hard. Hell, it would be really cool if you came up with a way to have a quickchange adapter instead of a vert rise where you could quickly change on a whole ammo tube, with fresh 12 gram and paint.

Well, you could probably get the stock class feed tube for the AM Illusion (it's Angel feed threaded), and put some sort of spring in it to feed the paint. Find a way to mount a 12g changer to the valve, and you'd have your very own Pseudo-Sidearm.
