The Frymarker

I was just pondering this. I remembered some of my goals when I was a child. I have completed 3 out of 15. Some are new because life changes, some are rather silly but it becomes one of those issues where you just want to say you did it.All of them are attainable it is just a matter of time I guess.

Here are mine, anyone else have some interesting ones?

1.Win a major art award: Done won best in show 4 times.

2.Go to art school: Done went to RISD

3.Get married and have children: Done

4.Build a doll house for my daughter

5.Sculpt a carousel horse

6.Design a jewelry line with my father

7.Play paintball with the Femme Fatales

8.Drive a race car

9.Take my kids on a camping trip

10.Make my own wine

11.Go on vacation alone with my husband

12.Go to Jim Henson Studios, my original goal was to meet
Jim Henson, however he passed away before I had the chance.

13.Make sure my husband accomplishes his goal of flying a
plane

14.Make sure I do my best to put my children through college

15.Attend each one of the Visa Triple Crown Races

3. start a small paintball biz
4. Start 2nd ms/phd

1) Rule the world: Working on it!;)

2) Be a better person: Blew it off!:D

Hey Frymarker,

Some of those are easy:
For the race car, most nascar tracks offer that experience for a few hundred bucks.

For the flying hubby, you can buy him an introductory lesson from a small airport flight school. My wife bought me one for aroung $125.00. I refused to take it because I will not go up in one of those flying death traps!

Yeah they are when I was 15 I started coming up with a few of them. Now I think that it is better to have goal that are attainable then goals that I know I'll never achieve or have any desire to do, such as climb Mt. Everest.

That way I can achieve them easier and I don't have to be depressed about not accomplishing them.

I know about the Nascar, I just have to get there. My hubby and the flight school, he wants to fly a fighter jet, and the only school that comes close is a school in Boston for around $1200 for the day.

Maybe for his 40th birthday.

I think the hardest goal on there is sending my children through college, being that college will be quite expensive when they want to go, I plan on helping them in every aspect to get great scholarships.

See what corporate sponsering does? Makes us add their name before the name of events, like the Triple Crown. :p This year's would've been good, too bad Funny Cide didn't win the Triple Crown though.

I know you're a programmer, but what API's are you experienced in? Are you willing to relocate? Interested in game development?

I was trying to get another member on here an internship, but that sort of fell through because it doesn't seem like there's much of a priority on internships at the moment. However, we're always looking for talented programmers, designers, and artists here where I work.

Well... we just didn't work... it's been an emotional roller-coaster ride for the both of us. For a while I thought we had a good thing going, but I think we're just too different - which isn't necessarily good or bad, but in our particular situation, this difference has been a problem. We've mutually decided, in good terms, that it's best to go our separate ways. So, I guess I have a hole to fill... and I hope one day I find what I'm looking for.

Thank you for the offer. Although I like to program, I'm not very interested in doing it as a 9-5 job... I'd be much happier doing networking stuff.

I really appreciate the offer though, thanks again!

Hey NTN4502

I should be able to accomplish my goal of wine making soon.

I got on line and the was a site where I could buy the correct instruments for making my own wine and bottling it.

So in a few months when the baby is born and I can have a glass it should have 3 months to mature.

I'll let you know how it turns out

:D
