I got about $5000 to spend on a car. Any idea what kind of model/make I could get for that kind of money?

P.S. Don't mention any trucks. Not that I don't like trucks but I wouldn't have any real use for it and the insurance would be more money.

If I can't afford the extra money on a truck how on earth could I afford it if I got a firebird or mustang?

On the other hand, my uncle does have an 85 Trans Am thats in pretty good condition... hmmm....

get a Honda crx, it will cost you $800-$3000, you have money to save, and insurence is CHEAP on those things!

You can pick up a 90-93 mustang gt for about 5k. killer cars, bullet proof reliability, good mpg (about 20mpg), and so on. decent numbers on the track stock too, if your into that, check out cobras of that year too, even better!

Bah...get yourself a nice little later model as 5K will get you Nissan or Toyota Four banger. Run forever and get the safety features of the latest ones. You get get into a 96 or 97 model with about 90K on it for that money. Have all the extras and still make that thing go 200k.

MK3 Volkswagon GTI VR6.

Best bang for your buck right there. 200 HP in a small frame will get you places fast.
