Behold, the ATS dual AT85. Or, as we refer to it, "Hansel." Hopefully I'll have a video up soon, or you can see it live this weekend at Hell Survivor's Global Conquest game.

cool:) is it suposed to spin like a gattling gun or are the barrels fixed. looks realy cool

Well, the weight of each gun individually is listed at 3.5 pounds. Then you have to add the loaders, the paint, the stock, the brackets we made to hold them together... of course this is remote only, or it would be too much. I estimate it will be ~11 pounds fully loaded.
Also have to consider the 2 88's on my back and 7 150 rounds tubes :)
Edit, to answer new question:
No, they don't spin, it's just a side-by-side double barrel. Underneath the two barrels is an accessory rail we made from a plastic tube, so we could mount the bipod and foregrip.

I thought full auto on the AT's was "only" 13 bps?

So you would "only" be doing 26 with that setup:D ;) :D Still looks cool!

There are only two barrels, what you are probably looking at for the other barrels are the legs of a folded bipod.

Pretty nifty work there! Even at that weight it is pretty reasonable considering the weight of say a M60 MG, 26 lbs without ammo.

I dig it. Hate to be on the receiving end of it though. :)

ATS website is www.getrealpaintball.com
No, my friends and I don't take out any of our realistic looking markers or airsoft guns in public. My friend got an AT4, and it looks quite realistic - if it were in shadow w/o a loader, it could be mistaken for an AR10 quite easily, but he always wraps in his jacket or puts it in a bag.
And the cost wasn't too bad, it's sorta the reason I came up with the idea - they had a 2 for 1 sale :) around $500 initially, plus the extras (stock, bipod, foregrip, materials). The kicker was the air tanks :( but I couldn't stop once I got going!
Kinda waiting to see what people's reaction will be when they get shot at with this... if you've ever been around an AT being fired, you'll know they're LOUD. Easily the loudest marker I've ever heard. And this is two!

11 lbs with everything, thats it for that monster!? Thats how much the original Shocker with tank and paint weighed, I'd much rather tote that around though(AT) than the Shocker.

The AT85s were listed at 13bps on CO2. On HPA they run faster, 15bps. They're also surprisingly light weight due to their composite bodies.

When you're done playing with that, i'd love to see a shorty version.

Thanks for the comments everybody!
It should be making appearances at all the big games at Hell Survivor's this summer... probably Shatnerball 2 as well. Hmmm, think I can still play with the Automag crew if I'm shooting this? I'll just have to bring my Sydarm along as well :)
We probably would have made a shorty version, but the AT10's didn't go on sale until the month after the AT85's. I already have one AT10 body though, so I might be able to persuade myself to get another if everything goes well.
As for the RoF, we'll just have to wait until I can get a movie. I've heard of them going as fast as 16, with the minimum being around 12. I guess I could deal with 24 bps... if I had to.

I hope this works, I've never posted a movie before.
Sorry, it's a 10 meg download. I recorded on my Cannon s400, and that's what it gave me. I'm not sure how to change the format.
So, if anybody can extract the sound file, I'd appreciate a wave analysis of how fast it's shooting (remember to multiply by 2!!)

OMG Dude, don't EVER point that thing at me during a game. heh. Jesus imagine using that during a senario game for a defensive position. Awesome job dude.

Dunno why people like ported barrels to make their gun quiter. A louder gun is much more fun and nothing is as lound as an AT.

BTW, Mantis how did you make a hopper right version of the vL clip mod? Doesn't the chain get in the way?

Mantis
06-19-2003, 12:42 PM
Credit for my sig pic has to go to Potatoboy.
Feeding the beast, or the right hand side in particular, was hands-down the hardest part of the whole thing. We ended up taking a VL magazine faceplate, cutting off the elbow section and epoxying it onto the back half of the magazine. It sits up higher because of the chain. Then we had to mess with a bunch of small guide plates to get the paint to feed right. We also ended up having to carve out a small section of the magazine well since the elbow now sat up too high to allow the magazine all the way in.

Again, if there's anybody that could download the vid and figure out the rate of fire, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Guess I'll have to start production on a four barrelled one next ;)

I would hate to be on the receiving end of that... but it looks like with that you'd be great in a squad support or defensive position in a scenario.

I have an even easier way to get 30 bps.

Take 30 paintballs, put them in your hand, throw them.

30 bps

tight gun. that would scare the hell outa me before you even pulled the trigger(s)..

thats my next question. Is it operated by one single trigger or 2? My guess would be 2. So its basically 2 seperate guns bolted together to make one badass gun?

skife
07-01-2003, 12:13 PM
i think its 1 trigger but i'm not sure, look at the pics closely it only shows 1 trigger frame

hehehe
love it man
you used it at global conquest?
was full auto permitted?
i love my AT-85 but it's just not as fun if i can't use full auto :(
i usually end up using my rt since it's easily 3x as fast as my AT is in semi
