Well guys, I finally got my little piece of heaven. It ain't big, but it's mine. got 4 bunkers from KAPP and 5 float bags from Mohawk Canoes and voila, a 3 man field.

Yea you gotta play tight to the bunkers, but that's good. Keeps you from getting lazy.

The float bags are 4'x5' except the flag bunker, thats 4x3.
the KAPP headstone's and triangles fill it out nicely.

Actions pic's this weekend.

Nice. I could use some of those for my paintball field. But all my bunkers are solid structures, like 2 and 3 sided buildings. :)

I bet your folks will LOVE the paint hitting the house. ;)

is that $875.. new? or did you buy used, does that include everything including? Where did you buy from?

sorry, but i really would like to see a 3 man game on that.

with 6 people on the field there are only 3 bunkers left to run to, that wouldnt be very fun. a 2 man field is more like it

where did you buy the floatbags?

Wow, im impressed and intruiged. I would personally throw in maybe about 4 more full sized bunkers then id be really content. You did that all for less then the price of a high end marker. How do the float bags hold up, sup air is held down by stakes right? What are the float bags held by and how do they react to a paintball hit. Do they blow up like the sup air with a blower and attachment tip?
One more question :p Did you order the float bags online(what site?) or from a shop?

thats $875 new, shipped., you can get the floatbags from mohawk canoe.

it's mohawkcanoes.com

floatbags are unbelievably strong, and cheap.

Brak, there's usually only 6 men on a field for the first 10 seconds. And at $48 a floatbag, I can add more as the money comes in.

hmmm...Well, what I would do is move the triangles to the back, and put the headstones at the 50 (this would give the back players more of a stand-up bunker). Then, when you get the money, buy 2 more triangles, move them to the corners in the back, and just make the starting line in the middle, you dont really need a bunker there. I'm justtrying to throw some ideas out there for ya, just my $.02.

Actually, the next addition will be a KAPP wedge ($180 5x10) at the 50 and another triangle (or headstone) and slowly grow. But I just thought i'd show you guys that fun can be had for less some think.

and hey, 3 on 3 , or 2 on 2 it's paintball and it's fun.

Thats definitley not gonna work out good. Maybe a 3-man feild for migets.

LOL!

The ghettoist setup i did was me and about of my friends when we were 14. We stole a bunch of supplies from a construction site (it was in the dumpster.. cough near it ;)) But we got.. GIGANTIC Sheets of sheet rock, bunch of plywood, im mean it was like heaven. That hyperball material stuff, those wood plank things (used in like warehouses), also we got old couches from a garage sale. We had the sweested field in his back yard. It was a real clean field, since most of the stuff was new for the most part. It was like a 5 man feild though. Wasnt cluttered but wasnt too open, you always had somewhere to run to and they provided alot of cover.

You should maybe get like those blowup chairs, beds, and couches and try those. Probably can pick them up at your local wally world for cheap.

Nice start just keep building.

06-18-2003, 10:10 PM
mmm i think those bricks are a little too small lol. Maybe double stack them to make it a 1 on 1 field since it already is kinda small to be a 3 man to begin with.

It's a nice start and it looks pretty cool. My suggestion though be to space it out some (from the pic the bunkers seem really close), if it were me I'd just make it a little more spaced, so there is more running and maneuvering involved. I'd try making it a little wider and farther back if possible. Good start though. And if you can also, beef up those small bunkers otherwise nobody is going to be going in those, cause you'd seemingly have to be under 4 feet to make it work(unless your just 7 feet tall and just make them look small :p).

That's an awesome field, and I really wish I had room for that.

You definetely need to space out those bunkers like all of the other guys said, or just turn all your guns down to the low 200's. That way you would save air and space.

It's cool, but the most you would get on their is two on two. It would be mad fun tho.

I say space it out and grab some garbage cans, plywood, any junk you got laying around to make some getto bunkers. It looks cool but their aint much space to move and that middle one is kind of useless becasue the only way to hid behind it would be to crouch in a fetal position and still you would be exposed from every bunker but the back one.

And dont your parents mind it being that close to th house. almost guarentee someone breaking something on the outside of the house, or someone accidently leaving a window open.

I envey you having a cool set up like that in your backyard.

That's awesome. Keep getting those Float bags, and you can double'em up. Man, I wish I had a field. Or a yard big enough for one...

i was looking at the kapp bunkers myself but they are all out of stock on the website. I also saw and add in the paper for a place called ALDI (http://www.aldifoods.com/locations.asp) that carried a 12 foot kids inflatable trampoline for 200 bucks. That would make a nice ceter fifty. :)
anyways good start.

Hey the mohawk place has some pyramid lookin ones that are a tad bigger then your big squares. 3D x 72" that might be a lil more managable for the people complaining its too small. They also have a closeout deal section and they are like half the price of the normal ones.

Lets see how long your parents will let you keep it up after you shoot the house. Maybe your next investment should be some netting it wouldn't have to be very high. Is there room to move your field farther from the house. From my own experience if you break a window your mom will not let you play in your backyard again. No matter how carefull you think you are, you will hit the house:D.

My friend and I were going to build an airball field in his back yard with about $1500 worth of KAPP Bunkers. Then we both realized we both wanted new guns instead. It's still something I'm dying to do though, it would be so awesome.

Look at the field, you can easily sweet spot any bunker there.

Thank you Eric.

By the way, I'm the 50 yr old behind the camera, the kid with one sock on is not the bunker owner as you all assumed, he's just a kid with a foot injury.

A professor once told me , "believe 1/2 of what you see and nothing of what you hear". I guess you guys prove that old addage.

You should add one of these to your field. It should work well as the center bunker!

Well,

I'm honestly more of a decked boat man myself, paddling a Wavesport Z and all.

I guess it's cool to see people who also have the need to shoot the rapids and other people :)

Paintballs won't break windows, or most things on a house. I sometimes take benches and lawnchairs and garbage cans and play against my friends in my backyard. I've shot lights, windows, windows screens, etc. (all on my own house of course). Great fun, no damage, just a pain in the *** to clean paint off the house and fence.

EZRUNNER - I just can't do a decked boat. I've tried numerous times and it's just not me. Wish I could, cause you guy's sure are having fun with the new designs.

I've been down and done the Nantahala for the National Chanpionships a couple times in the early 80's. but thats it as far as my southern paddling goes.

Have fun.
