Z-grips... how many made?

Iv'e heard roomers that there were only 400 made and it took 5 years to sell all of them. Does anone know exactly how many were made total?

I'm pretty sure it was 500, but i could be mistaken.

I do not know the actual number, but there were not many, and I bet it took longer than 5 years to sell them all as I still see them new in box at stores every so offten.
