A little bit of nastalgia, what was your first real paintball gun? (by REAL I mean excluding anything mainly comprised of plastic)

A Red Black Dragun Basic.

Well my first gun was a splatmaster (I know they're plastic, but they were a real gun back then) My first non-plastic guns were an old Hammer Pump and a Tippman Pro-Lite.

Back in 94, classic mag with remote, expansion chamber, braided hoses, and a spacer kit.:D

Just sold it a month ago with a Z-body, Dye 45 double trigger frame, OTP 1st gen 12in. barrel, shocktech drop, ANUS (A.N.S.) Phase 2 (most worthless thing on the planet), and some aftermarket on/off valve. Basically the only part on old Maggie she came with was the rail and the reg.

:( We saw good times together. But it was time for a change...::sniffle::

A Tippman Pro-Am - got it in 1993. Had a recoil like an Armalite and was just horrible, paid a small fortune for it as well.

ahhhh... those were the days......

My first gun was a verticle rebel. I did some sweet(if you could call it that)customizing on that beast. Then i sold it to some newb for a whole lot more than i paid for it, and bought my trusty ol' 98 custom(later to fitted with a flatline barrel which i bought for half price.) Then i sold that to another newb(who later sold it and bought an RT Pro).

Then we get to the present, my good ol' minimag...I love this gun. Looking to upgrade to an e-mag or x-mag in the next few years though. I will never buy another gun that is not Airgun Designs made.

I had a 1st gen spyder that i borrowed(spelling?) from my friend for an airsoft gun and he broke the airsoft gun so i took his paintball gun. It turned out it was a complete piece of crap, had to get a new bolt, valve, cup seal, spring, cost me $50 to get it fixed. It has the old silver single trigger frame, and the screws that hold the back in.

Dryden
06-23-2003, 08:49 PM
hitech - you are correct!
andreb - that was a great gun!

Mine, going back 15 years:

1) Brass Eagle Nightmare 12"
2) Carter Tri-Car
3) PMI-3/VM-68
4) MiniMag

I enjoyed all of these for one reason or another, especially the BE Nightmare. The Nightmare with 12" barrel was modeled to look like a shotgun and had the report and recoil to match.

Of all the guns I didn't own, but had the opportunity to play with, I always liked the Razorback II, Phantom, and PMI Piranha pumps.

Tippmann 68-special.

...And believe me, you don't want to read the list of all the guns I've owned after that. I have it typed up and saved on my computer just so I can keep track. :)

Well, the first gun I owned was a Trracer. The second gun I owned was a Mag. I bought them about 2 months apart back in 93. Still own both but neither see much daylight...though I did just pickup a new in box Chameleon kit the other day so the Trracer might see new life:)

Yea Dryden, those Piranhas were very good guns! Very low tech but still. In my first tournament ever I got penalized at the chrono for shooting a guy at 366 fps but the dam gun had no velocity adjustment

I alway wish I could find a used one for sale like the one I had(the short model) and clean it up and refinish giving it a new look.

PMI-1 with the top tube cut off and a pvc direct feed glued on. California rig CA, and a 30 round feed tube. Also had an autotrigger on it...

Second marker was a Derringer Mach II, a nel-spot clone.
First semi-auto was a spyder compact.
Then i got a '98 cocker.
a classic automag now with ULE.
A stock-class PMI-1.
And the latest addition was an e-class orracle.

I still own all but the first one, and I'm trying to track it down to buy it back.
