What is the most gas effecient barrel kit? Like freak, empire, equation, septer, J&J etc. Im not worried about accuracy, looks or durability at this point. Correct me if im wrong, but wouldnt the longest back be most effecient, given the right paint/barrel match? Thanks alot

The most effecient barrel would be a non-ported barrel around 11 inches. This has come up before I think.

I hear the Cp and septer are really good with effeciense. I have a freak and i cant say its all that bad either. But Everyone Always sez the freak is not worth the money and such n such is better. I dont really think there is a bad system out there. Pick one lol.

barrels with porting (EG: 95% of barrel kits) are bad with efficiency....barrels with minimal porting (LAPCO barrels, mag stock barrels, etc) are good

well, im pretty sure i want to go with a kit, as opposed to a load of seperate barrels. So, i just wanna know which has the best effeciency, compared to the other kits. I know its a trade off, so along with the paint match, id like the best effeciency i can get.

the J&J edge kit witha longer tip will give you 12" of unported length.

arnt the tips usually alot bigger than the backs, so the gas escapes around the ball when it gets to the tip?

yes, the ball will haev stoped accelerating when it leave the control bore

so then let me rephrase that. What barrel KIT has the longest contol bore?

Lapco has a kit coming out in a few weeks that will have a 7" control bore...longest I know of...

Something else to think about. If you run the paint "match" smaller than normally recommended you will use less air.

actually as the ball travels down the barrel, the pressure behind it drops. the loose fit in the tip is OK, beucase of the smaller pressure diffential less air will leak past the ball. so unported length past the control bore is probally a good thing.
