Nice... I like them both.

Up until now I wasn't sure if I would buy one...

I understand this isn't the tech forum for those of you who posted about it earlier...

... but what's the level of difficulty in installing one of these frames/grip on to an RT Pro? Are there any 'physical' adjustments I have to make in order to put one of these on, as in drills... cutting, etc?

An additional question to AGD is, will it void the official, as well as 'unofficial' warrenty policy that my marker has if I put this frame on it?

Yes, I am the official forum newbie! http://www.automags.org/ubb/smile.gif

I dont care for eigher, I am a fan of understated stuff.

I would like the AGD to look more like the logo thats in the AGD grips in the RT / RT Pro.

Maybe do some light edging high lights on some of the mill work.

if I were to choose, I'd go with #2, but I think flames would look cooler. Personaly I dont like the western style AGD logo there, I think AGD needs a simple logo to put on things, instead of just 'AGD'. I'm with Rob though. Look at DYE, its DYE but it has the target behind it, and its world known in the paintball industry. if they just had DYE written in normal letters, it'd be boring, but with they make them in the same font with the target behind it, its much more popular.

BTW I love the new look, I have my local store ready to order as soon as they're available.

I would echo Miscue's comments.

And I think the flames take away from an elegant design, not add to it. I personally would not buy it with flames... but I guess that is a personal style.

Now if you were to use latigo (sp?) style.... LOL Either go all the way with etching, or not at all... LOL

Just my opinion.

Sometimes simplicity is more beautiful.

Just one comment. The flames around the trigger pin and safety look like boobs. Take the part out. But I like #2.

I'd have to say the frame looks better without the engraving. Granted, it may be a little empty, but the flames add too much to the point of it looking a little overkill. There has to be something else that can be added instead.

cphilip
07-27-2001, 06:22 AM
I agree with the neither comments. I like understated elegance. Just put a small AGD on it and leave it alone. And pass the savings on to us?

crm
07-27-2001, 06:27 AM
i have always been a fan of function over form, i.e. the KISS principle...while neither of those designs would keep me from getting one, i would prefer a simple AGD logo (maybe like the one used on the Z-grip)instead of the flames and such. i think the overall elegant design of the frame and trigger already lends a style that speaks for itself.

if i had to choose one, i would prefer the outline instead of the full etching.

and yes, the etching near the safety does look like lopsided mammaries http://www.automags.org/ubb/wink.gif

i gotta say that the amount of input sought by the man himself is really coooool. i dont know of any other company that really takes the time to practice the "we listen to our customers" sermon. maybe with all the feedback Tom has asked for and received about this frame it should be called the "AO Frame" hehehe

good work on the design, but plz just try and keep it simple. its much easier to tolerate someone who is quiet than someone loud and overstated http://www.automags.org/ubb/wink.gif

krafty
07-27-2001, 06:28 AM
I'd say skip it as well... Keep the AGD logo (I'd say the outline looks better than the filled-in one) but ditch the flames.

Is there an echo in here?

They look a lil too busy...I like the filled AGD font from the first one but maybe in a different font? The plain look with the AGD would look good I think...

I may be off a bit, but one point to ponder would be that when doing a flame job, all the flames tend to go in ONE general direction. However, the flames used on this frame seem to be used to take up space, NOT add accent.

If that was the intent (to add content) vines would look better. But then again that is not a Paintball Theme (unless it was to be added with a cammo paintjob).

Other than that, I see no positive effect from the flames. And yes, it does look like ["Female reproductive organs which produce life giving essence for the consumption of recently born young humans"]... (you know what I am referring to). the overall effect created makes me think of a cheap child's toy.

Just because you CAN does not always mean you SHOULD. I say, keep it simple, keep it strong.

Personally, I'd like to have the Lion Seal AGD Logo on it, but that may be to intricate for such a small space.

As for the "Tribal" design, they look a little too much like a "Tribal" electro. Ickkkkk.

Im not to fond of the flames on the first one, but Id say if you were to go with either of them, pick the second one. Why not design a new AGD logo for the frame? Im sure some ppl around here could help to make something catchy, that will make the frame look awesome. Flames are gettin old, we need a new concept. But then again this is only my opinion. Just a little food for thought!!

the second probably goes as the winner. but if you look at a mag, the BEAUTIFUL SIMPLICITY of it, you cant really justify the extra money or time for the flames. DYEs are plain, Benchys are plain, and they all STILL look and sell great. but if it were a must have, go with 2. or perhaps a new design, just the AGD milled in, and perhaps one small milled thing.

I think it's too much. The Flames just take away from the frame. Just have it all solid black and chrome the trigger. That would be sweet. Simple is better. And if the user decides to add designs on it, they can do it themselves or send it to a specialist.

I think the extra engravings are pushin it. I like the AGD engraved on it, but that is all I would want on mine.

I think I like the frame a lot better without the engraving. The AGD is good, but I think you should leave it alone. Maybe lazer engrave around the grips.

I dont really like either of them but if i would have to choose i would choose the first one. if u did anything i would like to see u guys countersink the back frame screw. cuz i played today and i have a red sore form it. i think it would be great if u guys did that on the plaint frame. also if u didnt engrave them mabe make it in a few more colors.

Not fond of either. Something a little simpler would be preferable. Or, If there was someway to get the two lions logo on the frame

The 2nd one of course. Just ask Hetfield, flames rip, oh wait he's in rehab....never mind.

the second one definitely, the first one is more contemporary looking, while the second one looks more classical engraving

I think I am too late but just make the frame teflon black, and if you wanted to do something interesting put a checkering patern(like on real guns), or fishbone pattern on it. I felt that the flames made it look cheesy and like all those other companies that try and sell their gun cause it looks cool and is shiny. Or put lions on them that way it is the company insignia.

They looks cool but why not use the AGD symbol like in the Z-grips? those were sweet.

Between the two of them, I prefer the second one(the bottom one) though the frame should be sleek and elegant, to go better with the markers they're being made for. I get a notion that they're trying to be 'angelized' though, perhaps thats what alot of people want these days. All in all, I say go with, or give an option to have a practical, functional, elegant looking frame to go with the superb products they're made for.
just my two cents.

What you are seeing is here is a long lost attribute. The willingness of a company to adjust and change to market demand in such a visible way.
This type of visibility is very rare. After working in business for almost thirty years. It is quite a thrill to witness.
Keep up the good work.

K.I.S.S. AGD! Save us some money, and you some production time. All we really want is a frame that works!

Guys,

We really appreciate all the feedback. We have decided at your request to go with a plain frame. I am going to lock this thread because I don't want to wear out your batteries, we will have more stuff for you to comment on.

Thanks!!
