well as of today, my one and only local field in savannah has decided to close. seems as if there 'permit' (probably insurance related) has lapsed. so for the time being and with no hope in sight ....they are closed. needless to say this sucks badly. i will say that the turnout was pretty bad overall. having lived here a year, half the times i went out to play....they werent even open. dont know if its lack of overall interest in the sport for this area or overall lack of promotion. id say since the first one is dependent on the second one.....go figure. its a ski and dive show with a few spyders on the wall.

i love playing the sport and it looks like i will be forced to do a little traveling. i think the nearest field is 45 minutes away and i dont even know what kind of setup they run. all rec or ? if anyone knows of or can recommend any good fields within an hour of the savannah area, let me know. i have been looking on the warpig site but im not sure its up to date.

Closest indoor is about 30 minutes away, all other fields in the area are about 45.

During the semester when I'm at college I usually drive up to 2-3 hours to get to a practice or scrimmage. I have driven to Chicago for a tournament by myself, that was fun.

A little under 10 minutes to get to my local field. There are some other good fields about 45-60min away. And if I want to go up to Atlanta to play thats about a 1 1/2 hour drive and there alot of fields near Atlanta.

I live about 10 min from SC village. Fortunatley far enough away not to have to deal with the smell. And I could probably walk to Tombstone. It's nice being close, I can come home if I've got to use the bathroom.

Ive got a field that is about 30 minutes away, and another one that'll be about 1.25 hours.

Back in So. California, I'd play at SC Village, and erg. another place out towards Hemet.. which were both about 1 and a half hours away. There was an indoor too I belive that was only 30 mins away.

How far would I go? I forsee some plane ticket purchases in the future.

there is a field i think about 20 minutes away, but i've never been there. I usually stick to the better fields. The better field in the area is about 45-50 minutes away. There is also another one that is about 20 minutes away in the opposite direction(indoor) but it also, is not very good(and its expensive for what you get)

3hour bus ride from Bozeman to billings to my home field... because i didn't want to play in the woods, plus no hpa fills at the time. Did it about 4-5times over 3months
but probably a 20min drive from my actual home in billings, as opposed to collage.

did a 4.5hour drive with 2hours of sleep from Billings to Anaconda for a 5man tourney. Gotta love those 3am road trips:o . Ultimate air field and we placed 3rd. For those who don't know Montana, that's about 2/3 across the state and over the continental devide

but hey.... this is Montana, we gotta take the drive to throw the paint:D

takes me about 40 minutes to get to the closest indoor field, which i go to the most, and about 25 minutes to nearest outdoor field.

thats soon gonna change to 5 minutes by the end of the summer when a small field opens near my house :D

Well, since my local field/store closed, the closest place I know of to play is about 3 hours away.

Due to this, I only get to go to their big games about 2 or 3 times a year(yeah, I don't get to play a lot).

After I head off to school on the other side of the state, the closest field that I can find online is Tri-City Paintball in Richland, WA; about 3 hours away.

Man, I hope I end up finding one closer.

The closest field is about 5 minutes away. Sadly the turnout usally sucks. The fields are nice, all grass, air ball, hyperball and a big spool field. But that doesnt make up for playing 2 on 2 heh. Theres also a new field that just opened up about 15 minutes away. Other then those 2 its about 30-45 minutes.

I live here in the med center in houston, almost DT, and every field si about 45-60 mins away. The furthest places I have played would be in San antonio, parents live there, and the AO Austin meet next weekend.

Like 25 minutes without traffic to our home field, anywhere up to 2 1/2-3 hours to scrimmage other teams at like roughneck and top gun.

I live in Savannah as well, I currently drive just under an hour to play.

Which field in town is closing? I've never played any of the "local" fields.

Unfortunately most of the fields within an hours drive are really hit or miss as far as turn out goes. :(

headcase - its a very small field....uh rather a backyard run by a local ski and dive shop. check your pm, we need to talk.

I think us Juneau Alaska guys pretty much got everyone beat as far as distance/time goes, we don't have a local field so we play woodsball in an area that nobody seems to care too much. We're very careful to keep it clean though.

Otherwise to drive to a "real" field we are looking at a 6 hour ferry ride then a 2 hour drive up to Whitehorse, Canada or a 3 day ferry ride to Bellingham, Washington and then a drive to wherever the nearest field is (probably Seattle). Juneau has no road out so we either have to take the ferry or fly.

I was pretty sure that there was a field in Anchorage.... but never been there so don't know for sure

Anchorage is 5 hours by ferry and then an 800 mile drive.

How far? Closest field is 30 minutes to Ithaca (http://www.IthacaPaintball.com) But I generally just work there.
Most of the times I play at EMR Paintball (http://www.EMRpaintball.com) and that's about 1 1/2 hours in PA.

But I do travel across the country occasionally. Gone to NYC area (many fields), Canada, Tenn., Mass., Mich., et cetera. So far besides my annual Tippmann World Challenge 10 hour trips, Tennessee was a 13 hour trip. Longest I've driven so far.

Of course, I only drive. Won't fly. Not afraid to fly, I just don't want the hassle.

I nothing less that an our away from me in either direction just to get an airfill.

That and I only get to play during the 3 months of summer vacation because I go to college in Washington DC for the rest of the year. With all the security and the paranoia in that city its impossible for me even to bring my gear up.

It just sucks sometimes, you know?
