View Full Version : Vforce rigged fan works like a dream!

A while back I was complaining that there were no fans to buy for the Vforce. Manike then linked me up to one of his previous posts on rigging a Vforce with two computer fans (25 mm each). I copied his idea and I can now say that it works like a dream and is extremely easy to do!

He rigged his by using a JT visor instead of the Vforce visor. It is, however, entirely possible to use the Vforce visor with fans (they fit perfectly between the pieces that hold the fan in place). Had to do some slight cutting of the piece in front of the forehead to get the fans to fit in place but no other adjustments were necessary. Used zip ties to hold the fans and battery unit in place.

Anyone thinking of this SHOULD do it. I love my Vforce but had to give it up as it would start fogging up while playing in big games. Played in one today, however, and it did not fog up. I have the one fan pushing air in and one fan pushing air out (copied Manike's design) and that seem to work great. I do not know how other configurations will work. Anyways this is a home made upgrade I'd recommend anyone with a Vforce to do! Below is the link to Manike's thread if anyone else wants ideas.

these fans work better i think

put 1 on each side, have them both blow in from the sides.

And an air con unit strapped to your back would work great too   did you actually READ the sizing of those units?

About 3-5/8×3-5/8×1". 10cfm airflow. 2600 rpm. 200mA max. at 12VDC. Sleeve bearing. Excellent choice for cooling a car stereo power amplifier. It's a fact: electronic equipment that runs cooler lasts longer and performs better! You can use quality RadioShack fans for replacement or to add cooling to car stereo amplifiers, power supplies, Ham equipment and experimental projects. Specs and mounting data are provided on packages.

Those fans would come in handy for Disney Scenarios in which you were playing a Mousekateer.

I got the 25 mm fans. Not a bad price really. Battery holder, switch, etc I got from radio shack.
