The original body had a bead blasted finish. Since, it did not match the clamy frame very well (polished black), I took a chance and decided to send it in to get re-finished.

I'm happy with the results!

They polished out the dull matte finish and put on a nice mirror finish. The gloss black came out pretty good too.

I got the body and the original GZ 45 frame polished and annoed gloss black for $100.

Thanks for looking!

I live near http://www.checkitproducts.com/images/products_o.gif (http://www.checkitproducts.com/html/stores.htm) (West Covina), they did it.

Originally the price was $150, but with my order, they happened to have a lot of delays and completion coordination problems, so they knocked off $50.

very nice, but why did you go with dual front reg block? just doesn't look as good as the cp volumizer...

In the first pic, I thought it was a lasoya for a sec.

But nice choice on building that J&C, the GZ body is dead sexy looking, but the GZ frame is ugly as all hell.

Very Nice.

My favorite tank!

IMO BEST SHAPE!

The no drop (Check it uni-mount) setup with this stubby tank allows for the MOST COMPACT, shoulder supported shooting style.

No elbow flairs or goose necked wrists here.

I still prefer the single reg by a lot just because of looks, but otherwise that's darned nice. I love the peanut tank too....peanuts and 45/45s without drops are the only tanks for me! Clamshelled gzs are also the greatest, cause gzs have the best milling, but clamshells are more comfy and better designed than standard gz frames. VERY nice marker.

Mine has been reannoed and clamshelled (nonLCD) as well. One of these days I'll get some good pics and post em up.
Here's an old one (http://www.automags.org/forums/attachment.php?s=&postid=858624). It now has a volumizer, lasoya reg, and carbon fiber trigger.

No thanks... Not interested.

I just mainly wanted to show what the anoed job looked like going from BEAD BLASTED GUN METAL GREY to GLOSS POLISHED BLACK.

Considering it's not only a color change, but a surface texture change as well, I like the results :)

hey jack, what do you use to record your movies?

Jack & Coke
09-16-2003, 07:07 PM
I used a MiniDV camcorder (Sony DCR-TRV22) http://ic.pricegrabber.com/product_images/702000-702999/702009_125.jpg

to tape the event.

Then I imported it via Firewire using Microsoft Movie Maker 2.0 (free download) http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/moviemaker/default.asp

tada!

Very nice Jack.. I think I posted already...but who cares GZ's are the cream of the crop IMO, they are the most streamlined. Question though, where did ya get the double regged body like the fella above me asked, and what is faster the Tunamax or the GZ?? BE HONEST NOW!! I know the Tunamax is lighter...:D

Well, since the video recording frame rate of the 4800 is only 10 fps, your short clip would look really choppy.

I don't think you will like the results, especially since the action you're trying to capture is greater than the frame rate.

Thanks for the nice comps... One day, I called up BLAST and was asking for help regarding a single reg HP creep problem I was having. I mentioned that I heard that the duel regs never had this problem because of the design.

The tech I spoke with agreed and mentioned that he even had a few available if I wanted it! It was around $50-$70 (I forgot).

As of now, I think they're really hard to find...

IMHO:

TOP ROF = Tie

EASIEST to sustain a consistant stream of paint while WALKING THE TRIGGER = GZ

MOST FUN on the trigger = HYBRID MODE of TUNAMAX! :D

I've seen them sell used for like 110, so yeah...they are very hard to find at this point.

Btw, NTSC video is interlaced so you can slow it down to 60fps with no loss in video quality (since it's de-interlaced when you see it on your computer screen, you've already lost the 50% of vertical pixels)...I think this is only when imported directly as a DV stream, however. Still, it's awesome for capturing quick motion.

For reference:

IMAX=15fps
Film=24
NTSC TV=30 (or 60...depends on how you look at it)
PAL TV=25

Matty knows all....
