Aaliyah died last saturday (the 25th) on a plane crash while leaving the Bahamas.

I've never heard any of her songs, but she was real pretty.

Rest in peace.

Don't know her very well and not one to follow celebrities, but still sad nonetheless...

I usually leave CNN on most of the day, and saw a quick piece on her. She was in "Romeo Must Die" to start with, and just finished shooting the sequal to the "Matrix." I believe she was also starring in "Queen of the Damned," as the Queen herself; a book by Anne Rice.

It's sad to see anyone's life taken away at such an early age.

that crash was pathetic. They carried on too much stuff making the plane (or helicopter not sure which) too heavy. The pilot warned them that it was too much for the plane/helicopter but they just ignored him. The plane/helicopter only lifted 50 ft (I think) in the air before it crashed.

I'm just saying that it could have been easily prevented if they followed the safety rules.

Let this be a lesson for all the paintballing Aaliyah fans; Follow the rules.

It was 200 ft, and I'm not a fan of her music, but how can you say anything like that about a chick that hot?!?

Hated her music, but it sucks that she died so young.

If the aircraft was over weight....it's the pilot's fault. End of discussion.

There is this term in aviation, PIC. Pilot-in-Command. If you are PIC, you are TOTALLY responsible for following ALL regulations, procedures, etc. And you are responsible for the safety of the flight.

It's too bad that this happened. Flying is still way safer than driving. http://www.automags.org/ubb/smile.gif

Yea I heard about that, its too bad, only 22 years old, she just finished filming the matrix 2 in austrailia too. Her music wasn't too bad, her music is similar to Destiny's child. She was just getting to the peak of her career too, real sad. http://www.automags.org/ubb/frown.gif

Yeah, man that's really sad. I was looking forward to seeing her in another movie. She's not too shabby of an actor for a singer. It's like some kind of chain of singers turning into actors...like DMX, Aliyah, and some other ones.
