I just saw this movie tonight, and I have to say he has a point. It was SERIOUSLY funny. It poked fun at everything and everyone. Hilarious in every aspect of the word.

And my woman Ali Larter was lookin hot as hell! Woo hoo!

From the previews, I thought it was going to be a really stupid movie. Saw it two days ago, and I liked it. Pretty darn funny.

I have not seen this movie yet, BUT I will!

I loved Silent Bob in Dogma. The ability to bring so much to a movie with little to no speaking parts is fantastic. It makes you focus on the little things and the "between the lines" aspects of what is happening.

I love a good comedy that puts twists to things (which Dogma did), and even better if you have to THINK about the comedy for it to be funny. Anyone can tell a joke.... but true comedy involves many levels of thinking. http://www.automags.org/ubb/smile.gif Why do you think the "fool" was such a respected position? All the best comedians are highly intelligent people.

I guess that is why I like Monty Python so much... there is often much more to the comedy than what initially meets the eye. Anyone can enjoy it.... but to truly enjoy it to its fullest, you have to have some "learnin". http://www.automags.org/ubb/wink.gif

I enjoy seeing people laugh at comedy (such as my kids do) but then asking why they found it funny. Most of the time it is because they said something funny or DID something funny. But the true humor is behind what was said and done, NOT the fact that it WAS. http://www.automags.org/ubb/wink.gif We can all enjoy the same movie, but on MUCH different levels and for different reasons.

Even great comics like Steve Martin who focus on physical comedy have MUCH more to their acts than that. The depth is astounding if you only look.

Think I will like this new movie as much as I think I will? Feedback please...

yah ive seen clerks..i actually didnt think it was one of the best movies in the series. and shartley, i think you will definitely enjoy the humor in this movie. A lot of it is straight forward, but some of it is actually ingenious. My advice is to watch the other movies in the series before you go so you can get some of the jokes and be familarized with the charachters.

OK, I will say one thing. If you haven't seen Mallrats or CHasing Amy you will miss alot of the jokes in J&SBSB, Clerks would also be recommended. J&SBSB was seriously funny, loved the Star Wars Jokes.

I agree that "j&SB SB " is a pretty good movie. Bob did alittle to much talkin for being "silent".

Bob only had the two scenes where he talked...

And, he HAS talked in previous movies ("No ticket" in Dogma). But more than that I think is the fact this is their last movie. According to Kevin Smith (at least, the last time I checked his webpage, which was a while ago), this is his last Askewniverse movie. That means no more movies with Brodie, Jay, Silent Bob, Dante, etc. His plans after SpiderMan were to mostly write for comic books, and to do less movies. So having Bob talk in his last movie kinda makes sense.

Hopefully he changes his mind as DOES make more movies with these characters, though. Only time will tell.

He talked in Clerks too. He made the main dude in Clerks realize he loved his girlfriend. REMEMBER??

LOTS of people said Mallrats was a lame, bad film. I didn't particularly agree with that assessment...it wasn't great art by any means, but that wasn't the point. I mean, it was a film about slackers at a mall. How deep do you need it to be? It was funny in the Kevin Smith way. Snooches.

I loved his dialogue in Chasing Amy. It was just one of those moments where you went "wow...that was exactly what needed to be said." Bob's really my favorite character, just because you know there so much going on in his head.

Mallrats was ok, but not as good as the others, IMO. Still a good renter.

I never saw dogma, I hated clerks, chasing amy, and mall rats, but I love Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I've watched it 3 times in 4 days. I have it on my computer, and hook it up to the tv. The quality is actually pretty decent.
