I've always found swords interesting... dont know why. Never tried fencing. Would like to give it a go though.

Knives are beutiful things. I have somewhat of a collection, and I keep them sharp enough that I can shave with them at all times.

Yea, as a medieval reenactor, I have a healthy collection of swords, mostly from the dark ages. Never tried fencing though, seems a little... foppish.

Actually, I tried both normal fencing and SCA fencing.

It was really a phase, but normal fencing is tough for me not to attack. And in SCA fencing, everyone I fenced was way better then I.

In the end, I wasn't really dedicated to it, and after about a year I stopped... But I love the way the swords feel in my hand.

I wanna try a real sword fight... real swords... full contact... no armour... me and my katana against who ever else with whatever in there hand... however... real knife or sword fighting is illegal http://www.automags.org/ubb/frown.gif

Yep, I've got a few knives and 5 swords. Used to be six, but I broke one chopping pumpkins. My favorite is a blue orchid katana from Paul Chen. Folded some 1000 times with the traditional double hardening method. If I get a chance I'll post a picture of my collection.

And shepherds we shall be
For thee My Lord for thee
Power hath descended forth from thy hand
That our feet may swiftly carry out thy command
So we shall flow a river forth to thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be
In nomine patre, at file, spiritus sancte.

That'd be cool. I don' have any swords right now, only had one, but broke it. Have knifes, but nothing besides what you always see.

My favorite is my Late Roman Spatha (calvary sword) that was given to me as a gift. It has a nice ivory handle and a great looking scabbard with brasswork on it.

I collect bladed object that are from movies. I have an actual "Batarang" from the Batman returns movie set. I also have the set of highlander swords( connor, duncan, clan claymore, cain, and dagger). Knife from Strange days, from The Watchers, one from stargate, and several others. But my pride and joy is an 13th Century katanna with 9 kill marks.

I enjoy collecting kives and swords... well, I would if I could more afford to lol, the only one i Have of intrest is the Gill Hibber 'Mortal Kombat Raptor' an authentic replica of the one Kano used against Sonya in the first Mortal Kobat movie. The only difference from the one shown is mine has 'Mortal Kobat' engraved in the blade plus th MK dragon logo.

I've trained with Katana before, truly great, actually it's weird 'cause I actually got to train with a REAL katana today, no more of the ratan crap, it felt good to have the blade in hand, also strange because I sold my fighting knives to get my mag today, which I know have, I intend to get a katana soon though, I've trained with many types of sword, and you can be good with all given practise, it becomes totaly preference, I personally like katana's or wakazashi, or even both. any questions about technique or anything just Email me, I'd be happy to help you out. (I'm 16 now and managed the near unachievable feat of getting a black belt at the age of 15 so yes, I do know what I'm doing, I'm not some punk who watches to much anime :)

I fenced last year. Started w/ foil, where you basically just poke the chest (not fun), then eppe(sp?) where you poke anywhere (better then foil but not that cool), finally for a couple weeks, SABER. saber was great. You just slash anywhere with the only cool sword of the fencing variety. Fencing is worth a try, but I'm playing basketball next year.
