what would you recommend, a 12 inch barrel or a 14 inch barrel for my mag? i am looking for better accuracy from my minimag barrel and maybe range too?

Range is always dependant on velocity so it will all be the same, 10 - 12 is the supposed optimal length, usually longer barrels are more porting for less noise.

You most likely wouldn't notce a diffrence from 12 - 14 its personal preference.

if you play with inflatable bunkers, you could also use the 14 inch to kind of push into the bunker and expose yourself too much.

Whatever length you'd like :p
With a bore that fits your paint!

Just make sure it has at least 6-8 inches of unported length, and doesn't exceed 14".

Here read these, great info from TK hisself: http://www.automags.org/resource/tech/tomstech/index.shtml

*Edit* Just FYI - I use a ten inch 2 pc Boomstick, 8" of unported length, and 2 with porting. It works great!

i have a 14in and 4in barrel for my mag, i like the 4in better so obviously i would take the 12in, but thats just me, i dont think there will be that much of an accuracy difference between the 12 and 14, i meen, my 4in is fairly accurate :D

I've always liked the shorter barrels. It keeps the mag compact, and very distinguished. I used a 10" Dye Stainless for a long time, it looked sharp, and performance was great.
I use a 12" Freak now, which performs just as well at a fraction of the weight.

Tom's thread is a good read, and the trend is to get a barrel system that matches various paint you will shoot, because it really does make a difference.

Actually unless that extra two inches is horribly disfigured, there will be *no* difference in accuracy between a 12 and 14" barrel (same comp, bore etc).

There will be a slight difference in gas useage (less efficient) and it will probably be quieter...

According to TK the most important part of the barrel is that first 6-8"... running a 4 incher's means compactness, at the sacrifice of gas efficiency and some accuracy.
